I recently visited the local animal rescue shelter. I entered a room with about 70 cats and was amazed at the different coats and markings on the cats. Their eyes were colored greens, yellows, grays, bluish. I was amazed at the rainbow of beautiful colored eyes on those cats. There were quite a few black cats with the greebest eyes. I like black cats. Most were very friendly. They wanted to be petted and stroked and, curiously, some looked me in the eye or reached out to tap me with their paw to get my attention. I could feel they wanted me to take them home with me. They seemed to be begging me to take them. That was an amazing experience for me as I never really looked closely at cats. My thing was dogs. I'm considering adopting a cat or two now. I wish people would adopt more cats. Apparently, black cats are not popular with people, but they are not bad luck. In fact, I think black cats are good luck and they can bring as much or more pleasure and love to people as people give to them. Adopt a cat!!!

I think insecure people like rednecks or other ignorant types don't like cats because they don't cower to humans like days, cows, pigs, horses, even elephants bow to weak humans, but unlike all others animals cats will smack you back if you hit it, they don't forget and they don't forgive abuse, they may have multiple families if allowed outside and they choose or leave human families as they desire, I love cats and always rescue them or rather they rescue me, amazing, strong, smart and very loyal, you do not own a cat you are owned by them!
