Boa with IBD? Help!!!!
I just got this boa as gift about a month ago, and I'm not sure if she suffers from IBD. She has no issues eating, she just shed her skin in one piece. She seems ...
Ooh that does NOT look good at all, definitely some neurological problem
going on. Do you know if she was housed with other snakes prior to you
getting her? Also how are the temps? She wasn't exposed to extreme cold or
heat lately? She seems to be able to hold her weight up when she crawls up
your hand so that's a good sign. Snakes with IBD can't hold their weight at
all, also the fact she's eating is good too. You might wanna check the
temps make sure they're at the appropriate temperature
Look up the video on YOUTUBE called THREE SNAKES THAT SHOOK THE WORLD !!
IBD is a virus carried by live rodents and spread to snakes and there is no
treatment nor cure it's certain death for any snake that gets infected with
the virus from live or prekill rodents. :o(
Living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), we notice there are topics and saying constantly on the tip of our tongues. Although these topics may not be ...
EAT THIS not that.
There are a lot of common foods that us Crohnies can't eat. It's actually pretty annoying, so here I have come up with some alternatives you might want to try out!
my fast food baked potatoes, burgers with no lettuce. i can eat baked yams
and carrots, if you throw some apples butter and brown sugar in its almost
like dessert. oatmeal, peach cups. i have found that you can juice your old
fav veggies and add them to sauces to get the taste, but not the fibre.but
when you aren't feeling well its a bitch to bake and juice. the uncle bens
microwave rice packs are my new lazy, sickly food. ironically i used to eat
way healthier b4 i got sick. crock pots help too
The thing about water is that unless it's spring water, it's usually
treated. I know my tap water has a very metallic flavor to it and it's
really gross. I've also had water that had more of a chlorine flavor to it.
I don't care for gatorade all that much, Smart Water is my favorite! Tastes
really good and I feel loads better with it. Lately I've been getting NUUN
tablets, they're electrolyte tablets that dissolve in water and have a
light flavor. There's all different kinds of flavors.
@LetsTalkIBD that potato comment was adorably hilarious! our colons process
water and potassium. i actually have to re-educate myself on potassium,
cause i forget the details. yes gatorade and other electrolyte drinks
contain potassium and hydrate us better than water. just like first aid for
rave drugs, us ostomates or jpouchers need hydration with electrolytes
because we don't produce them. kids on rave drugs sweat them out and water
doesn't replace the electrolytes or potassium.
When I was younger before I was diagnosed with Crohns I could not eat the
delicious Frosted Mini Wheat cereal :( But now I can usually eat anything.
I just recently got my self a colostomy uggggg not a good time in the
hospital, it will be coming off soon says my surgeon. Also WAWA is the best
place ever haha. :)
@Tiger360X Hmmm I have no idea! I don't drink it too much but if I do, its
the starbucks kind in the bottle thats cold. I've had regular coffee and
it'll bother me but this kind never has!
In regards to the ginger ale....I've had the same problem for most of my
life. For me it's actually the ginger in it. My colitis actually made it
worse, I know the feeling...blarg...
You should also watch the movie Idocracy if you haven't seen it yet. Its
hilarious, they have a drink called Brawndo and it has what plants crave
electrolytes.
