I always save up all my 1p and 2p coins that you cannot really spend and
then eventually when it comes to £1 or however much it is, I take it into
the bank to put in my account! It's not much but it adds up in the end!
+Minty CandyArts You don't need your card! Just give them your phone # or email and then you're good to go. I don't even know where my card is for years haha
+Minty CandyArts yeah! when they ask if you have your sephora card say that you lost it and they will get you a new one with all of your points and it will be no bid deal :)
As a librarian I am so excited to hear you guys mention libraries and
e-libraries! The library I work at also has FREE e-audiobooks, just like
audible, but free! :) xx
How to Save Money & Buy Less Stuff - Minimalist Budget Tips
It's hard not to buy everything in sight when there are so many cool gadgets and nice things out there - especially when it seems like there's a new product or a ...
I just discovered your page, and the concepts and ideas that you document
and your tips fit everything I've ever dreamed of. I hope to do something
like this when I get my first salary. Also, your video quality is
astounding. Please keep it up, I can't get enough!
Some tips I have discovered. 1) Just put the purchase in your online cart
and just leave it there... I have discovered I scratch the buying itch by
just picking it out. By the time I come back to the online cart-- the buzz
is gone and I can think rationally. Yes and that is why better for me to
avoid brick and mortar stores. 2) I like to think about the "per use cost".
So lets say I buy a $30 sweater but I only use it 10 times... YIKES that is
$3 per use. Or I buy a car for $22,000 and I use it everyday for 10
years... that is about $6 per day (assuming no residual value, no gas, no
insurance). I try to make it a game to get penny/per use. So go to the
dollar store and use the item 100 times or daily for about 1/3 of year. I
haven't added taxes on that but might have to!!
+xbluebells lol I just went and emptied my Amazon cart. Its crazy how obsessed with buying things we can get. I don't need any of that stuff! I'd rather have the money for later in case I have the chance to go on a roadtrip.
You totally forgot about buying second hand. i personally always check
online if i can find the item i need second hand. Usually you can find like
slightly used for -50% of the price. Especially on electronics and tools.
For example i list here few items i have bought. Hand waterpump for
60€/229€. fiberglass Rowing boat 170€/500€. Electric engine for my boat
110€/200€. ETC. As for my tinyhouse build i have looked for left overs from
bigger constructions. Also hardware stores can give you great deals on
slightly damaged or dirty products.Dirty packaged Flooring wood i got -35%
flooring insulation i got -50%. 3 windows and heavy duty door for total of
110€ secondhand.
Always bargain, always ask for cheaper options, always check for second
hand. Check my videos if you want to see my 2500€ cabin.
+klausssi123 true! I don't know how we forgot to mention second hand! We're starting to buy second hand more and more although sometimes with electronics we prefer to buy new to ensure that they'll be in good condition for longer. It really depends on the item though.Your tiny house sounds amazing! I'm impressed that you built it for so little. Thanks for sharing :)
Like how you began with talking about a laptop...as most people would no
doubt be using one to watch this video ha-ha ...mine is coming on to
7years, it now on its second replacement battery (getting harder to find,
but cheaper!), had the Wi-Fi card fail so brought a (inexpensive tiny)
Wi-Fi dongle...will it last another year, sure hope so, will it still work
when it 10 years old?...that my aim! :)
I am a single woman. I wonder do you find it easier to adhere to your
minimalist principles being partners and doing this together? I struggle
with wanting and thinking I need something, buy it, and then end up
returning it. I wish I could avoid purchasing the item(s) in the first
place. I will try to implement the ideas you identify in this video.
+Vincent de Guard +Monique Liddle I think it does help having a partner sometimes because there's usually one of us who worries about something that the other isn't scared of, so it helps us try new things that we wouldn't otherwise have done. In terms of consumption, we also want different things (I want to eat out at the restaurant all the time and Mat wants to buy anything with a plug attached) so we can keep each other's spending in line. That said, some couples want the same things, so it would be hard for them to self-regulate their spending. :)
+Monique Liddle Difficult for a single guy too ;) I think you are correct though that having a partner makes it easier...one also has the added thing of maybe having someone to share stuff/do things with that makes one less likely to "wanting" to consume/buy so much?
+Gene den Daas Great idea, we'll add that to our list of video ideas. Thanks!!
HOW TO NOT GO BROKE & SAVE MONEY
I love doing these topical videos from time to time, and even if we don't want to we all have to think about money! I hope my tips and insights help! x CHECK OUT ...
Quickybaby forgot to mention something worth noting.
Buying small repair kits in bulk at a 50% discount is one of the best ways
to save money, as he said. Personally I chew through them at a very high
rate, around 2 for every 3 games I play. HOWEVER, what he failed to mention
is buying these consumables in bulk also acts as a free banking method.
You can sell consumables at 50% of their cost. This means that after the
special is over, if you need to, you can sell those small repair kits for
1500 credits a piece, which is exactly the price you paid for them. So in
effect it's a zero risk investment. I'll explain by example.
Let's say you spend 1,500,000 credits buying 1,000 small repair kits while
they're on special. Then two weeks later there's an event that gives a
discount on a tank you'd like to puchase, but you're going to be short on
credits! You can dip into your repair kit stockpile and sell some of them
for the same price you bought them to make up the credit difference. In
effect, you are sitting on a one and a half million credit stockpile.
I hope this information is useful to someone!
Somebooody pls by me som goldd! Plz i canot aforrd it my mumm say n0. I tri
to getta job butt they sai my to uggly. Plz plees help me I jus wana play
wirl of thank!
this is not right quicky, on the NA server we cannot buy more than one
consumable at a time. Maybe you can get them ( wga) to let us on the NA
server have that ability to buy multiple consumables like The EU server
can. it would be nice if they have fair play or Abilities and not give
preferential treatment to other servers
