I'm considering UoP this up-coming academic year. I recently left Leeds Met
uni because I hated the atmosphere there. I genuinely disliked the city and
the hall I was in.
Is Portsmouth a big city? I live in Brighton atm and that's considered
quite a small-ish city.
ah i'm glad you love it! Yeah the commuting aspect really didn't work for me, but I'm sure if you're already used to it it'll be no trouble! Oh god no I hardly met anyone at all! (I think that's why I hated it so much) I reckon having the more communal style of living (like the dorms and catered food will really force everyone together - so I'm sure you'll meet loads of people right away! :) x
+Cosmetic Charlotte I went to Portsmouth yesterday and loved it! I got allocated the furthest accommodation from where my lectures will take place (Rees Hall), though I used to already commute a bit when I was in College & Secondary School so I don't think that'll be a problem for me. Did you meet a lot of people on your course and during freshers? I'm going to be in Rees Hall which is catered and has an american-like dorm where there are two large communal lounges shared by the entire building, as opposed to groups of 5-8 having their own Kitchens and living spaces in self-catered accommodations, so I'm worrying a bit that I won't meet as many people as I would had I been allocated a self-catered room. Thanks for replying! :)
+Jadduck for me I'd say it's a fairly large city although I was totally new to the area and come from a small town! I'd say it's similar to Brighton possibly, although what I found hard was that the classes were spread apart but quite a distance which made getting to classes an absolute mission! x
