+Bri Z Same result. Most people that buy these dogs do not buy them with the intention of turning them into lap dogs. They buy them to project an image of themselves as tough, and not to be messed with. When dogs are being raised, they pick up on their owner's attitude, and they sense their place in life is to be tough and fight. Even if you get a rescue pit, the chances are abnormally high that the dog was raised to be violent. No, they are not the only dogs that are this way, and there are good pits out there, but the chances are so high that the breed is just not worth it.

+GFINHK when people get pit bulls, they rescue them. This is like if you rescue a cat you don't expect them to be all trusted by owners. Pits fight because owners teach them, people make a living by this. While pits are up on the charts, this isn't fair if the owner dies for doing a good deed by adopting. +Chris Gil I have accompannied a pibtull being raised at a friend's house. It was well raised. Beyond a certain age I refused to enter his house and voilá, he got attacked by his own dog. The dogs are dangerous, period.

+Chris Gil I've had more than 7 dogs already. You don't need pitbulls or any other dangerous breed for anything. Dogs are unpredictable and can go off at any moment. There are, more than 20 dangerous breeds. Pitbull is one of them. If you set a chihuahua on someone nothing bad will happen most of the times. The dog is the problem, not the owner. Stupid people are a constant. you can't remove them from the equation so you have to remove the actual problem. Breeds that can overpower the average man cannot be allowed.
