Yardley Cosmetics Advertisements in the US form the 1960 British Fragnance.
Hadn't thought about that scent in easily 40 plus years! It was a fairly
nice scent -- typical of the time. Reminded me of notes of patchouli with
maybe a little vanilla and spice.

Thanks for the insight I am an executive student with your company since
2009. I have watch you grow as a business and looking at online classes at
your University. Equally important the technology works great.

YARDLEY Groovy Girls Tv Commercial 1967 Monkees
Yardley of London '60's flower child makeup as seen on the Monkees 1967.
I wore the brown English Eyeliner and a thin line of white Glimmerick on
top too. (until the product was discontinued some time in the 1970s). In
1965 Yardley of London sponsored eye make-up lessons on Saturday mornings
at The Broadway department store in Hollywood, CA. My best friend and
attended all 4 (or 6) classes. I still make use of the tips and tricks we
were taught back then. I think Glimmerick was pretty special. No one has
made anything like it since.
I still have my Heartbreaker and the brushes; also the cream blusher. Wish
I still had all the rest of it. Cannot believe how much the Oh! de London
cologne is going for on ebay. I bought some from a new manufacturer (not
Yardley) and it is only reminiscent of the real thing. Am searching for the
Twiggy / Yardley commercial that ran during the Monkees program. If I
remember correctly, the camera shot began at her feet and slowly went up to
her face.
I have a VHS copy of that particular NBC feed; it's the original summer
repeat from July 10, 1967 (moved up from scheduled repeat date on August 7,
1967), with its soundtrack altered to include Goffin and King's "Pleasant
Valley Sunday" (coinciding with its release on the A-side of the Colgems
#66-1007 single on the same day). This is my first glimpse @ a
better-quality copy; mine is as godawfully blurry as all get out! :^P
I still have my Glimmerick box in a draw in my bedroom. I kept it back then
because of all the colors and drawings of Glimmerick Girls on it. And oh
"English" eyeliner, we thought was the so special, lol really it was just
regular eyeliner, but anything with "English" put in front of it we HAD to
have back then. I did the black with white liner on top when I saw Patti
Boyd wore it.
I loved the glimmericks eyeliner when I was a teenager. I wish yardley
would come out with ithem again, it had such a nice effect. I wore the sky
blue with pink as a highlighter. I thought I was soooo cool lol! I remember
the slicker dolly lipsticks too. I loved the yardley commercials. I always
wanted to grow up to be mod and English! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for posting! Way back in the day my sister gave me the first one
for Christmas! So Cool!!! I guess these little things would be collector
items now! Now I am searching for a Yardley commerical that had a jingle
with the lines "let the London Look from Yardley swing for you" ....the
tune to it was catchy. I still can't draw on eyeliner straight!
Anyone who would like to see Yardley revive their cosmetics line and bring
back some of these great products, should email the company through their
website. They maybe they would finally get the message as to what the
consumers want, not what they think we want, or want us to want! Yardley's
customer service definately leaves something to be desired.
omg where was i when this product came out, i would have bought this in a
minute!!! had the sigh shadows but missed this one, bummer, such a cute
little product
