+Matthew Wieting Did you get this resolved? I notice a spare ' in your error, did you hit the key accidentally? I tried the command as I posted it and it worked for me.
+Matthew Wieting The fellow hosting the optware packages and installer has apparently taken his site offline. I'll look into alternates.
How To use DD-WRT Companion App | Enable ssh on DD-WRT Routers
Hey ! this is tuttorial on how to connect the dd-wrt companion app via ssh connection and how to enable ssh on your dd-wrt router. I made this video long time ...
It would be awesome, but it skips over a few important things such as
setting the username and password or setting up security keys (which is a
must for WAN access using this). I love the video, but I'd love to see it
edited with this info included.

How to make a Client Bridge on your router using DD-WRT
In this video i show you a simple step on how to use your router using dd-wrt to make it into a client bridge so you can connect your 360 desktop or any wired ...
No idea if this would work, but if you have dd-wrt on your router at home
(e.g. your paren’ts place), maybe try VPN tunneling. With this, you can
access your home router from wherever you are, then surf the internet via
your home-internet. So in your case: Your Device->campus connection->home
router-> entire internet. I don't know how to set this up though. Might
also work for other blocked stuff, and prevents an administrator from
seeing which sites you visited.. Seems pretty advanced stuff tho
you would have to have it wired to the flash if nothing works but i would
check to make sure you have your windows media player settings working
first before checking network stuff if you have checked everything from
windows media player or other player that you can share it then i would
hook it to the flashed router you might want wireless settings i may make a
video soon on this
dont use any type of router at university if they tell you no routers, in
order to play online at university is plug in your ps3 via ethernet into
the ethernet port in your room, the only bad side to this is you cant be
online on your computer and ps3 at the same time. if you use a router it
messes up the schools internet settings and they can trace the router to
your room.
you can use an router switch or disable the wireless or use your laptop as
the wireless hub for your playstation or xbox your laptop can be a bridge ,
you might be able to proxy and get around to use psn however i do not
recommend torrenting on your school network you could get into trouble
doing that unfortunelty you are pretty limmited because of your school
Also I am not trying to use this in another room I am just trying to get
rid of double nat by putting this in bridge mode on my router and let the
modem/router handle dhcp. They are connected by ethernet cable and I know I
could use bridge mode but I want to see if I can do this another way. Its
like a experiment.
This video doesn't start at the beginning of the process. The user already
has it configures and doesn't explain whyyou are to set the gateway to
192.168.1.1( it's his own routers IP). You should click on the next video
b4 you waste time trying to figure out why you're setup isn't like his.

i dont know to be honest, your dealing with the schools network so i would
google about that. the best way would be to somehow find and outside
network thats not part of your school and boost it to your room sorry if i
didnt help much. Find out how to proxy around your schools network
I have a TP-Link TL-WA730RE with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/08/12) flashed. My PC
is connected via LAN, and I use my Android phone via WLAN to remote control
my media player classic. Since I flashed DD-WRT the RC doesn't find the
server anymore, I doublechecked the IP. Any ideas? Regards.
hi bro my university block some site like playstation online ..... so I
can't play online using my ps3 ..... I have router ... and I wonder if
there is any method to go through ....and access playstation online service
.. like tor vidalia to let the torrent work
Okay I understand most of the video but I have a modem/router as my main
and the default gateway is 10.0.0.1 not 192.168.1.1. So in your steps would
I used 10.0.0.1 as the default and dns? My ddwrt of course is 192.168.1.1
do I still need to change that too?
your pc has to beconnected as well wired if you want wireless ill make a
video on it soon but thats all i know for now sorry :( try to make sure
windows media player is enable for media sharing thats another step of
trroble shooting
My modem wifi won't reach up stares. So can I use Ethernet cable to it to a
second router up stares.plug Ethernet into second router using wrt. Then it
gives out the internet from the cable out as wifi? so its wired to wifi
repeater
if you want wireless settings send me a inbox and ill send you my settings
since i have my router now wirless enabled it may not always work the first
time so dont expect to happen the first attempt
your methos is a little complicated but you could do it, if you cant get
this method to work then go ahead and connect an ethernet cable to the
first router, then second it will expand the connection
PC is wired to a non flashed router the xbox is connected to a flashed
router. All fresh settings. I've opened ports before I reset the router and
just decided to do a fresh start.

Installing transmission (torrent) on DD WRT Router HD 1080p
For all written instructions go to //www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Transmission_daemon CODE FOR PUTTEY " cd /mnt mkdir /mnt/opt mkdir -p ...
fine btw, I installed Transmission on my dd-wrt router, but seem to be
instable, perhaps because my router 1043nd v2 is still on beta. Anyway, I
have purchased an NAS Synology dsj215j. No more problems and headaches.
Torrents works fine, stable, speedy and this device have many others
options like files cloud, etc. It is a pricey option, but less painfull.
rzepa10 witch build do you have? the build 21061 have problems with ssh. I
has the same msg as you and I´ve justed updated to build 21676 and ssh
worked fine now. But I´ve got the problem with that line (wget
....3iii.dk/linux/optware/opt...) the file optware-install-ddwrt.sh doesn´t
exist anymore, and yes I´ve completed the link. Any help?
I'm unable to run putty correct on my 1043nd router with dd-wrt. Each time
when i run putty and i chose 192.168.1.1, port22, ssh and all others value
in dd-wrt set like yours and i click "Open" in putty i get message "Server
unexpectedly closed network connection" any idea ?
i'm having the same problem as rzepa10. i'm stuck at the part "Server
unexpectedly closed network connection" I have DIR-825 rev B1/B2 and I have
the lastest build 21061 I don't see any other build of 21676 like Gessy
suggest. any help please TIA
I have the same problem with Putty because of a firmware issue with SSH.
But Telnet works and we can use past command with mouse right clic. It
seems to install properly but can't access to Transmission interface. Have
some tried with Telnet ?
After some time i decided buy real NAS Synology dsj212j. Everything is like
it should be and I dont have to waist time for searching solutions for my
problems, because I dont have them. It was one of the best purchase in the
last months.
which transmission file do i download? there are so many of them?
transmissionbt. com / download/ you gave the link to putty but not
transmission thanks in advance
Sam problem. Go to Administation and look your SSH setting. Can you enable
that? Because i CANT activate it(default is disable) And the circle is grey
:(
+trythisiptv that for the reply. The K26 meaga build that I was looking at was @2014. I assume this is what you are referring to?Thanks again. I do appreciate it!
+Brian Henning on an 8MB flash router like this, the big, or mega builds will both work, as long as theyre k26 builds. I have not had good success with k3x builds yet
After many long hours I managed to find out the issue (not without your help). I had a Tomato install. These are the steps:1.- Disable all other networks including Bluetooth.2.- Disable any antivirus and firewall.3.- Change the Local Areal for LAN at the TCP/IPv4 to 'Use the following IP address' to default Belkin of the router model:IP 192.168.1.9Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (using CMD ping -t 192.168.1.1 showed a ping of 64, meaning it was responsive and had firmware inside)4.- Unplug the ethernet cable from computer.5.- Unplug power cable from router.6.- While pressing WPS button plug in the power cable to the router for 10 seconds (this is the most important part).7.- Plug the ethernet cable to the computer.8.- Type the default gateway in the explorer.9.- the CFE UI will open.10.- Restore NVRAM first.11.- Upload OEM or DD-WRT firmware, the F7D8301 can handle up to 8mb of flash (mini, big or OEM).12.- After success message displays, wait whole 5 minutes.13.- Unplug ethernet cable.14.- Perform a Power cycle.15.- Now perform a 30/30/30 reset.16.- Plug ethernet and wait... check if network is recognized.17.- Go to TCP/IPv4 and check 'Obtain an IP adress automatically' then close.18.- Type //192.168.2.1/ and voila :DThe router is working now and connects to the internet using the modem.I could not thank you so much for your help and providing the links, I also learned a lot while repairing this router.Your video was the key to my weekend struggle. I own you my friend.I will leave this here so people could find a solution too.
Well, I have been struggling with the router's ping. I displays: <1ms TTL=64Which should be fine at 192.168.1.1, but I dont seem to find the right timing for the TFTP2.exe to catch it at the right time. Could you please suggest any new info on this?
Definetly keep me posted!Seems like you might have to try tftp recovery. the peacock thread explains how to see how bad it is. basically pinging the router and seeing what the ttl is. different values can mean different things.
Indeed it is weird, because as you say, I can't access the router using ethernet.I have already tried assigning it a static IP and that would not work. Thanks for that tread!!! Sure is handy and definitely will try Note#6 later. I'll reply with any news.
with a wired ethernet connection you still can't access the router? Are you receiving an IP from the router? There is some good info on this if you search google for "peacock thread", its a post on the dd-wrt forums, note #6 explains how to determine if your router is easily recoverable, or may take some more extreme measures.
Thanks for replying, I appreciate. Could you explain how to do it? I tried using a hardwire Ethernet and trying to avces the router bit still no gateway or nothing.
there is a possibility something has gotten corrupted.the 30/30/30 will reset everything back to factory settings, so if after a 30/30/30 it still is having issues, the first thing I would try is connecting via wire and reflashing with a known good firmware.
