I haven't shopped at Wal-Mart in over 7yrs, they can go fuck themselves. I shop at Costco for bulk food and local grocery stores for smaller items. Vote with dollars folks, let Wal-Mart fold up like Kmart and bring back local community businesses, employee owned businesses,etc we don't need mega corps paying slave wages around anymore.

R410 IS OZONE Depleting and its not even that much better. R22 is something like 18XX than r410a is which 1700 times destructive.So that 100 is really not spictacular since it leaks out faster and more often. R410 leaks because it has a higher pressure and everything around you pourus like balloons, the joints of ACs its similar in every way except that the pressure WILL leak out 10x faster than an R22. I took service calls on r410a and i can say with 100% certainty that it is garbage crap

R-410a has ZERO ozone depletion potential per US EPA. It's global warming potential is 2,088 which means venting 1lb produces the same effect as generating 2,088lb of carbon dioxide. That DOES NOT mean it's over a thousand times worse than R-22. R-22 has a GWP of 1,810 meaning R-410a is only 15% more of a greenhouse gas than R-22.Global Warming is completely unrelated to Ozone Depletion. They are two completely different phenomenon.

+Pete Kiryluk R410a systems don't use freon....They use refrigerant...Freon is a trade name of Dupont for R22

R-22 is a HCFC, which means hydro chloro fluro carbon. the deal with the ozone is that the chlorine that is in the refrigerant reacts with the ozone when it floats up into the upper atmosphere. Chlorine will steal one of the oxygen molecules turning the ozone into O2 or oxygen.

+Pete Kiryluk 410 A is not ozone depleting if you read the material you sourced. so it has basically the same global warming potential as a greenhouse gas as R22, but doesn't put a gaping hole in the ozone for all the suns rays to fry us. I don't agree that higher pressure means more leaks. If they are leaking out it is because the manufacturer is not producing equipment with a high enough standard

Global Warming Potential (GWP) You will notice since they use carbon dioxide as 1 the base point r-22 1700 Vs 1600 I will find more information for you but here is the start. I research technical stuff all day, i'm not pulling the numbers out of a hat. No they are not, i'm going to the chemistry science book that i remember that from. Also since R410 Systems leak freon all the time, the effect on the environment is similar. I will find the chemistry and post it here tomorrow so you can see it yourself. I know people like to repeat bs just because a corporation making the system has to say it's better, because it's way more expensive. I will find it and get back to you, because whats the point of hearing it from you, i need to show you physical facts and i will.

Is there anyone of them that could be used to top off a compressor that has r-22 that's low with out having remove all of the r22 if I don't really care about long term this ac is on the way out I just need to get a couple more mouth out of the unit

R22 does not do anything to the ozone. R22 works the best DuPont wanted to push their 410A to screw everyone over. It is politics. Talk about why the Government uses R12 to clean jet parts. It is a scam bring back R22

Hello, I like your video on the different freon. I was wondering if I replace my ground unit with a 410a ground 13 seer unit but still keep the same evaporator and valve assembly. And be able to use 422D in the system? You see are temp. here in Vegas get into the 107- 125 degree F. I like the properties in 422D especially the lower pressures. You see my A/C pressures get very close to max pressures of the ground unit. I think the only differences between units is the seals and oils. What are your ideas? +Cruiz Gonzalez i would use a dry ship unit with the 422d insted of a 410 a the compressor is the r22 type and will work better in the long run

Great build, however my only criticism is that you introduced the video as a what to do if a disaster happens and society is destroyed....then you proceed to require parts to be ordered online or by telephone and be shipped to you, which of course would not be possible if society had been destroyed, also.... Not sure a welder would work if the power is out.

+ilililhy1 I think that a lot of the gases and smoke from burning the wood are captured into the system and turned into either creosote or usable gas. Would be interesting to see a study on that.

Generally, no, you have to bake the wood in an absence of oxygen in order to get a viable wood gas off of it to power your equipment.  Your pellet stove burns the wood in air, and if it is working right, the main products of the breakdown of the cellulose would be water and carbon dioxide.  When you bake the wood in an absence of oxygen you get gas with the major constituents being carbon monoxide, some hydrogen, as well as a bit of heavier hydrocarbons and some inert gases.  Carbon monoxide and hydrogen are both useful as a fuel in that they will burn when mixed with oxygen in the cylinder(s) of your generator engine.
