Might need to have it done. How was the bathroom afterwards? Generally seems people have an unpleasant experience to say the least. So, hoping to find some tips to handle that easier.

+MiamiPhins28 Yeah, the pain is gone. The internal stitches/staple/whatever feels a little weird to the touch, but otherwise I have my strength/motion and everything back to what it was before I had pain.

Not sure if I'm having it yet. Its a little dull at times, but i'm not in pain, so trying to decide. Is the pain gone now? Worried about the mesh causing issues, but its nice to see people who have success with it.

+MiamiPhins28 I assume you mean using the toilet rather than getting to/from the bathroom. I don't recall anything particularly difficult about it, to be honest. I may have been advised to use a laxative or fiber supplement to make it easier, but I don't remember. I think if it were super painful that I would have remembered! The hardest part was just moving around for the first few days, and especially sleeping. I believe I mentioned in the video that although I first started sleeping lying down, that I actually spent most of my time sleeping sitting up. That wasn't quality sleep, but moving from lying to sitting was basically the most painful part of recovery, so I just propped myself up with a mountain of pillows and let that suffice. =) I did that for 3 nights or so and then was able to manage sleeping normally again.I hope your surgery goes well. Drop by and let me know if you remember!

@nishbrown Well, "quick and simple" would be downplaying it a bit - at least in my case. I'm more sore today than yesterday. It feels like pulled muscles do kind-a... At least I can stand up straight and make myself breakfast! (...unlike the first time I had this done in '91.) Yeah, yeah. I've been working on a tiny plane the last few days. I'll put up a video on that soon I think. No flying right now with 8" of snow on the ground.... Soon though!

Fly something! lol Yeah, my friend had that done, after making a spectacular fully-laid-out diving catch in left field. He said is was so quick and simple. Glad your guts stayed inside ya. Seriously, fly something!
