On July 15, 2006, Freedom Party of Ontario leader Paul McKeever was a panelist on The Michael Coren Show along with journalist Claire Hoy and the Ontario ...
After reading some of the comments in here I can honestly say that I was
lucky enough to go to a high school where a dress code doesn't even exist,
although I do remember this one girl in my History class was getting
complaints from the SUBSTITUTE for dressing a bit slutty and another time
in P.E. where the teacher told this one kid to pull his pants up. Other
than that I've seen baggy clothing, dyed hair, chains, piercings, etc all
over school and the only problem we really had were graffiti.
When I was in middle I had an eyebrow piercing a nose piercing a belly
button piercing and a tongue piercing. And they told my mom that I was
gonna be kicked out if I didn't take them out while in school. And my mom
went way above there heads and found out that it wasn't policy and they
were just being judgmental. I then was kicked out for having pink hair...
My mom went nuts claiming they were just finding any reason to kick me out.
I was let back in after dying my hair from pink to black??
Wow... what are they gunna do about a kid with 1 inch gauges? Make them
take the jewlery out are let their ears hang? Isn't this why there are
flesh coloured plugs? To appease these idiot for a little while. I love
body mods, I love seeing other peoples and I love my own, it's an
expression no matter how many people have 'em, it's really the fact YOU
like/have them for yourself and not bacause it's 'COOL' but that you
appreciate the art/expression/look for yourself. Thats just how I feel.
This is sad. I'm 37 & a mom & it shouldn't matter if the kid has purple
hair, tattooes, nose rings or a face full of jewelry, as long as their
grades are ok enough to graduate & they're not doing anything that can get
them killed (drugs etc) then what's the problem? I say paint your hair in
rainbow colors, stick a ring in your nose or your face & go to school. I
went to school w/ some kids who had pink or blue hair & all kinds of weird
things & they went on to become successul people.
I've dyed my hair a coulple times but I'm going back to my natural brown.
My next step is piercings, but I have to convince my mom to let me. I'm
currently only 14 and need parental conscent. It's a horrible feeling to
know I want something so much and It's just so close yet so far. I wish we
could do what we want, to an extent. If a ten year old wants her nose
pierced, I say go for it, but some body parts at my age or younger are
still growing so I understand some restricions..
bald guy is talking out of his ass...how on earth does a piercing make a
person's brain function on a lesser level? He has gone completely beside
the point in trying to link personal expression to negative academic
performance. Stereotyping at its most ugly. He ought to be ashamed of
himself, all with a poker up his behind..all this "disruption" talk..have
they asked the other children if grills on their neighbour disturb them to
learn math?plus that shiny pate IS distracting :P
@Sydwayman How does that make you pathetic a piercing or a tattoo is just
like a type of clothing such as a flannel or sweater its not necessarily a
way to express oneself its to show that they are not a part of the crowd
the government wants them to be in. take a look at famous people the most
famous are those known for doing something that most don't so i think you
are being too judgmental to us kids which makes us not want to follow the
rules set by people such as yourself.
@xsxrxvx That's quite a leap. It has zero effect on your ability to absorb
and integrate information (learn). It has zero effect on your ability to
perform a task well (unless it is in such a place that it forms a physical
obstruction). It is other people's reactions to these things which affect
the likelihood of being hired. If the employer doesn't care about anything
other than getting the job done, then they just have more employees to pick
from.
they do this to take away our induviduality like no blue or colored
highlights cuz its distracting but whats distracting? that darker girls
wear beads in their hair hows that not distracting so i am leaving my blue
highlights in and if they say something to u or me say: you wanna take away
our individuality darker girls wear beads in their hair but oh you must
think its not distracting whatsoever thats just odd!" say that and thatll
suprise em!
having piercings and crap dont make the person a bad or disruptive person.
i know ppl with eye brow piercings, lip piercings and guages and all that
and their like the smartest people out there. dont judge man. it leads you
nowhere. what ppl wear shouldnt effect anything. and i agree with the one
dude id rather have like a friend or something have piercings than on the
streets skippin school doing drugs. some school policys are crazy.
im 21 a lawyer and i have 21 piercing the first one i got way when i was 14
and it was my tounge im smart rich i even have a 3 year old boy and husband
whent to uni and all left high school at the age of 17 passed year 12 got
put up in grade 4-6 and iv always had people on my back but iv never ever
took it in now im happy and my husband wouldnt have me any other way i do
think too meny is yuck but i have one for each year iv lived
I don't understand why we can't wear piercings or grills because yes maybe
it will disrupt for about 5 minutes and then it wont matter anymore. Also
if you have to take a piercing out every day(except for weekends) would the
school board want to risk the child's health from the piercing being
infected from taking the piercing out all the time. School boards should
see that it doesn't affect AT ALL IN THEIR LEARNING AND EDUCATION.
and bald guy, dont dis until youve tried itt. your just set on the older
ways and not going with the new generation. and dont flag people with
piercings as disruptive trouble makers. some of the people i know with
piercings are the nicest people i know becuase they know a different veiw.
not everyone has to be stuck up, and be basically clones to learn something.
my school said no piercings and i went out and got my nose pierced my
father said if they said something to say "fuck yuu" so i got my nose
pierced which i love and i got to tell teachers "fuck yuu" so yea it was
fun and my father was the one who had the idea :) and since i got my nose
pierced that morning i couldn't take it out or it would close up :)
at my school; no piercings unless on the ears, no unnatural colored hair,
no shirts longer than the tip of your middle finger or it must be tucked.
ughh, much more, but no time to name them. guess why, 'its a major
distraction the learning experience.' i just want a fake clip in purple
extension, but we have to take it out immediately. ughhh.
notice how the bald guy was hounding on the grills and not really saying
much about piercings or any other accessories. we all know that the
majority of people who wear grills are african american. i myself am not
african american, but it seems more like an indirect racial stereotype to
me. obviously bald guys tend to be douche buckets. lol!
I disagree....it does limit your ability. How do you expect to get a decent
job with a bunch of jewelry sticking out of your face? I see these people
when I'm at the drive thru at taco bell. There comes a time when you have
to join society weather you want to or not....or you can just work at taco
bell the rest of your life I guess
Schools are just where we learn how we are the property of the state. These
fucking kids never agreed to anything, this is no different than every
other form of opression ue push on them... parents should be ashamed if
they let their children be taken from them every day just so they can
afford their hummers and cable tv. whatever.
School uniforms are a funeral on someones perconal style, being forced to
wear a uniform is asking for trouble as my school found out with me and
load others, its about feeling comfortable and its their style, im getting
grillz and tbh couldnt give a fuck if everyone hates it coz i like it and i
feel comfortable DONT KILL OUR STYLE
@ThisIsJohnny850 It makes you pathetic because ; 1. You are worried about
the way you are perceived by your piers. 2. You cant express yourself
through an intelligent medium. 3. You are most definitely part of a crowd.
The "government" doesn't want you to dress in a certain way, and when you
grow up a bit you will realize that.
@Sydwayman yes i do have good grammer and i dont have to use spell check
and it doesnt matter if you wear grills or dress in a certain way its just
style that many people adopt through the years and the way you dress has
nothing to do with a persons intelligence so until you understand that your
dissmissed from my side
@HazhurdThaOneAndOnly No, you seriously do not have "good grammar" (I
suggest you worry about school and not how pimpin you look). The way you
dress may not have anything to do with your intelligence; but it is the way
you present yourself to the world and you will be perceived accordingly.
End of discussion.
Having a peircing is like having a badge of your originality. Peircings are
flat out fawking AMAZING! Peircings make people who they are, you cant stop
somene from sticking a needle throug your tounge lip nose ect. People need
to fuck off the kids with peircings and amazong effing hair, Their just
Jelly
I have both ears piereced, 10 tattoos, and top and bottom cube grilles to
school everyday. I've sued the school I go to because they think the dress
code means no "gang related" articles. Okay how is having my ears piereced
and 10 tattoos of non gang related material breaking said "dress code?"
the only way jewelry is disruptive is if a teacher is yelling at you to
take it out, then its the teachers fault were not learning. and just so you
know baldy i have 24 piercings and was one of the least disruptive people
in my school and i never got in trouble for anything but my piercings
think about it... kids go to chool with a piercin and the school says no...
the kid will be wasting more time in the principals office fighting to keep
it on then if they just let the kid have the piercing... JUST LET US DO
WHAT WE WANT AND SHUT UP... stupid goverment rules...

If I were a 15 year old guy, or a 13 year old guy, I wouldn't shop at a
store called "Crazy 8," where the models are obviously no older than 9
years old, lol. I'd actually be embarrassed, but that's just my opinion.
I'm turning 13 going into 8th grade, and I stopped shopping at Justice, and
stores like that at the age of 11, just because the looks is too childish,
and you have to grow out of it at some point. I mean, just think, I'm going
to be 15 in 10th grade, Noah has to be relatively around the same grade I'd
be in, and Noah is probably going into 8th grade too, or 7th, I don't
know..but I'm 12 going into 8th grade, turning 13 on September 30th. Then
again, you can't really tell Noah is going to be 16, and that Jonah is 13.
Noah kind of looks like 13, and Jonah looks 11.
+belkis alvarez um ok... whatever nobody cares he shouldn't be dressing like he's 20 he should dress like his age group tell him to act his age and not rush it...
