I see all these overpriced "re-usable zip ties" on the market which cost more than regular ones when it takes seconds to open and reuse a regular one, so I ...
The zip tie in this video IS designed as a re-usable cable tie, non
re-usable ties don't have the tab you are pushing your nail against to
release it.
+Suzanne MacKeith it's the regular zip tie... google 'reusable zip tie' and see the pictures. there are a few designs. the one shows is just the common zip tie.

AR Drone 2.0 Hog Mod, Landing Gear Mod, Super Zip Tie Mod - Episode 10
Our NEW store, with shipping to every country on the planet: //www.ARDroneShow.com - for every replacement part, and lots of great mods & upgrades for ...
It usually increases stability. Make sure it's level with a leveler app,
and also that the trim is flat. If you're using Drone Control try stability
mode. Bearings, lube, and removing the hull sticker will make a difference
too. In episode 11 you can see the drone has no trouble flipping and
manuevering with the 3 zip mod, but if there's some other issue (spin each
prop with your finger to see if one gives extra resistance, then
investigate that entire foot) the extra weight could exacerbate it.
Owen, UF gears are nice to have, they're not a requirement though. For
folks who don't want to spend more than they have to, I recommend getting 8
stock gears in my store for $16. If you're trying to boost performance
wherever you can, UF gears are great. Lighter weight, stronger, and since
they're part of the mechanics that must be rotated by the motor at high
speeds, the lighter weight make it easier to spin so it will add a little
bit of battery life, similar to upgrade bearings
Owen, well it depends if you want one zip a leg or three. It's a little
extra weight, but it will offer A LOT more crash protection (see episode 19
for 150 ft crash). And especially if you remove the outdoor hull plastic
cover, that will just about bring you back to stock weight. And the new
weight distribution means in a high altitude crash you'll land on your
feet, and will help prevent overstop and overturn that might cause you to
fall out of the sky
Owen -- well you know Parrot's about to release their 1500mah battery, for
something like $75. That's ridiculous in my opinion. I should have some
good upgrade batteries that are comparable in my store soon, that'll be
about $30. Parrot's never really been on top of the battery situation, they
think if they slap a Parrot sticker on a battery everyone will buy it. Lol
and I guess a lot of people do, but I wouldn't spend $75 on their new
battery myself.
The objective is to improve crash protection. This will absorb a lot of
impact, and also will cause the drone to fall feet-first if it falls far
enough -- see episode 19 for 150 ft crash tests. I crashed 100 ft with just
a regular zip tie mod during filming of this week's episode. It was just
zips, not a full hog mod, it ended up landing on it's side and broke the
hull, cross, body, and maybe some other stuff I haven't put it back
together yet =/
Well it adds about 7% weight. That's easily made up by removing the Parrot
branding from the hull (5%), swapping bushings for bearings, upgrade gears,
removing the magnet for velcro... easily makes that weight back. It also
reduces overstop. It'll save money on replacement parts over time, not to
mention the pain in the ass of crashing and having to stop flying due to a
broken part. So it's a small price to pay for a little extra weight.
Well that's going to depend on what other mods you're using. I think what
you're asking is how will the extra 25 grams affect battery life. Pretty
minimally, especially if you reduce weight elsewhere. Peeling off the
plastic on the hull, using bearings, and using Ultraflight gears will get
you back to about even, about 5 grams overweight but added performance will
make up the difference and then some
Ted - Episodes 0-25 were edited by Nathan Houser who used his account with
Manhatten Music Productions. Episodes 26 and up I edited, and I've been
using 4 music sources: audionautix, danosongs, incompetech (.com's), and
the music of a subscriber who makes music and has his own channel,
RinghausenMusic, who's been nice enough to let me use some of his tracks.
i did the three zip tie mod and now the drone seems to be a little unstable
in flight. i watch it hold a hover and it seems as if it has to compensate
for one side. any suggestions as to what i should do? also the drone will
flip over in flight during some maneuvers, never has done this before.
Thanks Scott Oh yeah I've definitely got some custom hulls on the way.
Those and some other mods I'm really excited about are coming mostly in
April, some in May. A few I've already got but am still testing. A couple
were no good, they can't all be winners
sooooo looks like you found a great inexpensive way to mod your thing,
anyhow I kept getting distracted by the upside down star in the background
lol...is there a reason its positioned like that? Your a devil worshipper
aren't you! good vid though
The hog tie mod works great. Thanks for the improved version. On an
unrelated note, I know you can't be too picky about the (free) music
overlay, but where online do you get the stock music access?
I JUST dropped them off, along with the hull, at the post office. It'll all
shipping priority, I'm just right here in Little Rock so it should get
there lickety split
Hey, love the music - especially the harmonica! The disco stuff reminded me
of the old show The Love Boat! good vid man... great stuff. appreciate your
channel
Another great video Kyle. That blue tool works a ton better than the
regular yellow one BTW. Any plans on carrying the custom outdoor hulls in
your store?
As an electrician I'm disappointed in your electric taping...... It needs
to be pulled tight.
YFZ450 Zip Tie Mod
Here i am showing you how to do the Ziptie mod on a YFZ450.this video should help you do the ziptie mod on any carburated YFZ 450 model. sorry for the ...
@uae3276 yes 1/4 turns of the fuel screew make a differance because it is
part of the pilot circut of the fuel system and only effects your throttle
from 0%-25% throttle. in hotter area and months of the year you want to run
you quad a little leaner then when it is cold.i myself drop my main jet
down 2-3 sizes in the winter months and on the really cold days i may have
to move the clip 1 notch, but my fuel screew i usually only need to adjust
about 1/2 turn to compensate for the weather changes.
@Tooextrememx now it is on what it comes stock which is the 4th one, ill
change it to the 3rd on later on today. another thing is that sometime
while i ride and slow down and just hold the clutch it stays reving high
even tho i dont have my finger on the throttle, only when i let the clutch
go again abit while in gear it the revs go back to normal. any idea what it
could be?? really appreciating your help since im not to familiar with 4
strokes since i had a banshee before.. thanks
hi, i have another question, but ist about jetting, my piston broke and
bent my crank rod because of running to lean, i order the big bore piston
and going to bore my cylinder, 478cc, atm ive got 42 pilot and 158 main,
have my air/fuel mixture screw 2 turns out...so i have a rossier exhaust
and a stock airfilter and might get the k&n but no lid....would you have
any idea what jets i would need? ohh and its mostly 40 degrees celcuis
where i ride...thanks
@Tooextrememx haha, well at least they can come to good use in some
situations. I got a couple buddies that hate clippin their nails too. I
always rag on 'em for it till the rare occassion they actually do get rid
of 'em. no hard feelins but I almost thought you were a cross dresser
hahaha. btw you could you point me into the proper direction for custom
rebuild kits? my 377 is an oversize bore (set up for racing) and I cant
find the proper crap...
@Tooextrememx suddenly the engine made this wierd sound like pop or
somthine and the person behind me said there was black greish smoke coming
out of the back :S now it doesnt start, it will still shift gears, and when
i hit the start button it just keeps cranking with a clicking noise coming
from the motor... any idea?? would it be the piston rings or what?? really
need help..thanks
@Deansvideos123 twist throttle are ok but the people that have issues with
twist throttles are seasoned quad riders MX riders have no problem with a
twist throttle on a quad since they are used to gripping there bike with
there legs.quad riders don't grip with there legs and when there body
shifts it tends to cause them to twist the throttle more and posably lose
control.
@rockerboi08 make sure you're not obstructing anything with your zip tie.
the throttle wheel could be hitting your zip tie and that could be causing
it. also make sure your carb is as clean as possible. I haven't done the
zip tie mod to mine yet and it had a very sticky throttle until I sprayed
every damn part of the carb with carb cleaner. No problems after that
though.
@uae3276 sounds like your fuel screew is turned too high try turning the
fuel screew 1/2 turn back or forward to see if the issue resolves. most
fuel screew setttings should be about 2-2 1/2 turns from all the way in.you
only want to be no more then 1 full turn from that.if you turn it more then
1 turn from the setting i stated above you may need to rejet your pilot jet.
great vid!!! helped a lot. just a question, when i go up a hill the engine
tends to bog and die, or even when sometimes going on a flat land, it bogs
and then i throttle or dont throttle and it dies.. and suggestions?? i did
the zip tie mod, have the air screw 2 turns, i ride mostly at sea level and
its around 45 degrees.. any suggestions, would really appreciate it.
@cr85dan624 it sounds like your charging system is trying to put more power
to the battery them to the sparkplug. with this issue your only option is
to try to charge the battery back up and see if it holds a charge if it
don't you either have to have the battery conditioned or buy a new one.
DON'T RUN WITHOUT A BATTERY damage to the charging system could happen.
hi, quick question, i just installed a full rossier exhaust and my quad
doesnt want to idle, i am at sea level and its around 40 degrees celcuis, i
got my fuel/air mixture screw out 2 turns and my idle screw is the full way
in....so my question is should i screw the air/fuel mixture screw out half
a turn or in half a turn?? or what could the problem be?? thanks
i tried this mod it works great.on my quad i have jet kit[fuel mixture
screw,pilot,main jet,needle]and k & n velocity intake kit.i tried this it
worked great much better throttle responce better aceleration faster
throttle.i have been running my quad in 30 and 40 degree weather and once
in awhile it backed fire i ran at night it was like 40 and it ran better
@uae3276 ti is a little hard just to throw you some jetting # because there
is alot of factors to take into account when jetting your bike/quad. 1
altitude 2 air temp 3 humidity 4 mods 5 a few other things but 1-4 are most
important it is always best to start out with a rich setting and slowly
move 1-2 sizes on the main leaner till you got it just right.
@Tooextrememx i did it to mine didnt really help may have to do that and
get the fuel cover or even close the leak jet completely also check your
jetting mine still bogs when i do that but my jetting is a little off since
they ran race gas in this quad anyone know what io should run for a 95
octane compaired to 110?
@Tooextrememx yeah i heard, but i bought my exhaust second hand and didnt
get any jetting info aswell as the big bore kit, so i would apreciate if
you could give me a ruff estimate of what i would need for sea level,30
degrees celcius,20-60% humidity and k&n filter with big bore and rossier
exhaust. any idea? thanks
@uae3276 try it on the center notch if you have to move the clip more then
1 notch in either direction you may need a differant main jet. with the
posability the jetting is off cuz on the needle it can make it hard ti
start.try it on either the 3rd or 4th notch if it is still giving you
troubles let me know.
@Tooextrememx i have got the screw 2 turns out, so would that half a turn
make the difference?? and regarding the air screw would an engine need less
petrol in hot countries and more air so there for i can put the setting
more lean so on the 3rd clip? thanks for helping me out.really appreciate
it.
@brandon184839 i am bad with recommendations for shock setups since it is
all the preference of the rider.i personally like my suspension set up with
springs for a 180-200lb rider and the shock dampening set slightly soft on
the rebound and med to hard on compression.i personally weigh about 150lb.
hey i need some help i just bought a 06 yfz450 . the battery is dead so the
eletric start dosnt work.i tried pop starting it but it still wont start.so
i tryed pop starting it with the battery disconnected and it fired right
over. any suggestions on what do to and wonts wrong.thanks
@Tooextrememx ok, i put it on the 4th notch and starts now without me
having to throttle a bit... i will try riding it later on today and will
let you know... thanks for the help. for the cam mod, will i have to re jet
my carb or can i leave it? if i need to re jet, to what? thanks
ok, so i turned it half a turn in and idled fine, drove fine aswell. i went
to the desert and it was very hot again today, switched it on and had
trouble keeping it idling. drove around a few times, no hill climbs or
anything and then just cruised and gave it full throttle....
Zip-Tie Truck Prank
To do this all you need is a 12"+ Zip Tie and a car/truck with a driveshaft. Just put the zip tie on the driveshaft (while vehicle is off) and your all set. Thanks for ...
this trick is horrible, it happened to a friend of myn and he got in a
wreck because the zip ties slid into the u joint and locked it up so he
