AirWaterLandBuffalo Eh I mean honestly I just think its Iggy Pop/Peaches gone Kidz Bop, like i'd said originally. I can't enjoy it for the simple fact that its such an incredibly watered down version of not only the spirit of the music but what she intended it to be in the first place.
bl4ckmt4l I think Peaches' Iggy collab was truer to the SPIRIT of the original Iggy stuff, but this is, like I said, a more accurate TRIBUTE - the melodies, the vocal style and the lyrics all remind me of Raw Power. The difference is that what was considered edgy and dangerous in the Raw Power days is no longer so now, and she isn't breaking new ground in the way Peaches did - she's just making a reference, basically. But on the other hand, I am pretty fine with that. Kesha's not accomplishing anything really subversive, but I can enjoy this song all the same.
AirWaterLandBuffalo I completely disagree. The song she did with Iggy Pop was far more accurate a tribute than this Kidz Bop attempt at doing so. In fact, I think in just about everything Peaches has ever done she is more successful at accomplishing the power role reversal than Kesha. Kesha is far too watered down to accomplish anything that subversive imo.
bl4ckmt4l Yeah, I get what you mean. Peaches is certainly more dangerous than this (and if her latest video is any indication, she's really pissed off the right kinds of people - them comments, ugh). But she never did anything that sounds as much like a straight-up genderswapped tribute to the kind of music Iggy Pop used to make as this song does (though it is better without Iggy - his verse was not the best)
CincoMejorcito This is Kesha's favorite song off her Warrior album. :)
