I would like to install a backup camera to my truck (RAM 1500). Sense the
truck came with the digital touchscreen (5''), would it be possible for me
to get a backup camera from any store and hook it up to the touchscreen or
does it has to be a specific camera system (OEM fit)?

for factory deck you must use a back up camera made only for that stereo or one that uses a separate screen

black screen question. I've got my back up camera plugged in to the reverse
light power cables. I've got the red wire going to the positive and black
to negative, I've also got the purple wire hooked to the positive... if i
grab a TV and plug the yellow video cable into it and i put my vehicle in
reverse the camera functions great... however if i plug the video in to my
new aftermarket radio and i put it in reverse... the screen does
automatically pop up like its trying to give me a video feed but all i get
is a black screen ... i tested the video cable out with a TV to make sure
the signal was making it to the front of the car but ive no idea why no
picture will come up on the deck... ive changed the camera setting from
ground to battery and neither make a difference.. any ideas?? do i have it
wired improperly... should the black be grounded instead of connected to
the negative?? does the purple wire have to be on the negative wire or is
the positive ok since it still automatically pops up?? pulling my hair
out!!!

Did you buy the stereo local??? If you have the back up camera in r-cam in or reverse cam in double check the manual i would say your de ks defective bring the stereo back to the place and swap it. Dont cut the wireing harness just swap out the deck

yes you can :D as long as its aftermarket stereo and aftermarket screen

+Joel Kellom My Xterra came out with this glove hole because it had the factory single din radio. I'm sure you can find it on any Nissan dealership.

i used a scoshe adapter on my 1998 nissan frontier king cab I only have
front speakers . once the left and right speakers wires are connected only
my tweeters work and the lower door speakers won't work any ideas. they
worked with the factory stereo

+imthefercho found out that on a 2 door truck the bottom speakers on the door are the rear speaker wires . as soon as i hooked them up they worked

+Crazyclaw74 you need to verify that the cable colors from your back speakers actually match the ones that you have on your dash. Also, check if your adapter really matches the truck's factory harnes's wires. I had an issue with a VW Jetta where the adapter's yellow and red wires were wrong.

I actually have an Alpine KTP-445 right there. Anything bigger wouldn't fit.

I just hooked up my friends radio to my car to see if it worked it did
there both aftermarket I go to put mine back and then there is no power?!!
I tried plugging his back in still no power please help. 2000 Nissan xterra

Did you check the radio fuse? Is on the engine's fuse box.
