Coffee and Artery Function

Amazing -- something in those coffee beans that changes and interferes with
the way we process caffeine. Perhaps a bunch of other things about coffee
beans are unexpectedly negative too. I can drink strong black tea with no
problem, but any kind of caffeinated coffee gives me sharp abdominal pains,
nausea, headache, and hand tremors. When I was in my early twenties I was
dumb enough to drink espresso knowing what regular coffee does to my
system. I was literally rolling on the floor in pain.
It could just be a hydration thing. Caffeine dehydrates the blood, thus
de-caff coffee and tea (which contain only small amounts of caffeine) will
be more hydrating than de-hydrating, thus they're beneficial like water.
Is this not obvious to anyone else?
I don't get what conclusion one should take from those infos They aren't
really helping.
Me as a High carb low fat vegan eating mostly raw often heard that Coffee
is really bad for you. I never heard of anyone really getting ill from
coffee or tea. 2 Month ago I stopped completely taking any stimulants like
coffein, teein, alcohol and of course nicotine and all other drugs. So I
only drink water. I do that to feel the benefits completely and maybe after
6-12 month drink 1-2 Espressos (i never really liked black coffee because
you can really feel how it makes you awake and feels alot more like a drug
to me) and on another day 1-2 glasses of red whine which i always liked or
a good beer/a little whisky. I am sure that those things in small doses
aren't really hurting anybody but still I want to give my body the space to
completely heal and be able to completely tell me if the things I've just
put into it was good or bad for me. Since many people talked about a strong
improvement to hear and listen what your body tells you I am looking
forward to test that out for my self.
I would still like to know if there is any solid study about coffee or tea.
Some people really find me strange for not even drinking tea since it cant
be that bad but I figured that if I stick to water that should be the
healthiest.
+JobbaMoscha Since my last message I have ditched tobacco (after about six years since last time and about fifteen since I first started), of course I ended up sick, go figure.
Hm I don't know if you could just do it for yourself by doing my methods. Thats always a very individual task.I most often just need to realise that I am beeing lied to or manipulated to then question the things I am doing, After that it's will power (coffee or more espresso in my case was never so important for me. for alcohol it's a bit sadder because I really liked to enjoy a good glass of whine or a whisky. Since I also ditched meat, most oils, most salt and that is going completly against the norm it's not that hard to just another thing on my "does not benefit me, does not comes into my body list".)I hope that helped.
Thank you for you comment. Exacly how I'm trying to do it. I only came to this great lifestyle by being open so I won't close up myself to others and follow gurus which I never did. There are still some things I intuitively have problems completely believing:Sugar of course is one thing. I never thought that it's good for you but it seems that it's much "healthier" than I first on thought. It is still obvious that it'll never be better than whole plant based foods and it's good that DR said that. Still their abusing the sugar too much in my opinion, but its not my body.Another thing is a little coffe, tea or whine. It can't kill you but I will see for my self how it feels to have a little after 6-12 months of abstinance. Maybe a little is even healthy. And like I said, iwas never the coffee drinker but I like Espressos or 1-2 glasses of whine for the taste.Drinking so much water or 1l before each meal also seems unnatural. Having to urinate 10 times clear per day might be too extreme and not really needed.Eating so little fat also is very dangerous in the opinion from other people. Especially the thing about Omega 3 and 6 seems to bother "health specialists" I talk with about my way of eating. No salt is also disliked by many people because they say how important it is. Maybe they don't really know about the natural salt in fruit and vegetablesAnd at the end there is always my problem with the huge portions and kcal needed. I think it's not really normal for my body to eat 600-1000g of potatoes with a no fat and salt tomato sauce for dinner. Maybe its the price we have to pay by not eating completely raw because our stomach is mislead by eating natural quantities and at the end a cooked more dense meal. That is why I finally want to read the starch solution to also check the propotions there (only read china study and 80/10/10 and am doing this since ~5 months).
There are very few studies that show a negative effect of tea consumption, at least of moderate tea consumption, I too am a low fat high carb vegan, but you can't listen to everything the gurus say, much of it is opinionated. The overall low fat high carb thing works very well for energy levels, but there is a lot of baggage advice that often seemingly gets dragged along with it...For example tea is shown to be GREAT for you! Yet the HCLF community is so anti stimulants that they don't put about or know or believe this information. Tea is better for you than water, because it contains nutrition & water! Having said that I don't drink tea tea all the time, maybe 4-5 cups a day and usually earlier in the day up till 5pm, then I switch over to redbush or herbal teas as it has no caffeine. We need to learn to cherry pick the best bits of this diet, and not stick to it dogmatically. I choose to follow what the science shows for the most part. For example you will hear Durianrider say that table sugar is good for you, but the simple fact is it is not. Sure our bodies run of glucose, and they process sugar fine, and it is good for energy levels etc etc etc, but the fact is that consuming sugar without fibre is entirely unnatural, and our bodies aren't ideally equipped to deal with huge sugar spikes from unbound sugars. It will cause damage even if you feel lighter than if you ate a fat laden meal. I suggest eating wholefoods wherever possible, and only consuming juices or sugar when exercising intensely and therefore using up the energy as it spikes in your bloodstream..alternatively consume the juices or table sugar with wholefood products to help blunt the spike.I do drink about 1.5L of juice a day, but this is when I'm gassing about on my bike, surfing or with a wholegrain meal loaded with fibre. I understand that it's not optimum for me however, but accept that risk because it makes me feel better than having a completly full stomach and trying to exercise on it...seeing as I do 4-5 hours a day exercise, outside of work.

I have never once had a cup of coffee and felt any huge wake-up response.
But then I have also never eaten anything with sugar and felt some big
sugar high and then a crash. Never. Not once. That's just my system I
guess. But then I'm the girl who, back in the day, took a quaalude along
with everybody else in the dorm and chilled and vegged out
I cleaned everyones closets. So there's that. Everybody's system is
different. Mine is just REALLY different, lol.
sorry, that should read while everybody else chilled out behind the quaalude I was cleaning closets. Of course if this were the case today, I would have taken video of it all on my phone and uploaded it onto YouTube. I'd like to think I would not have done that but, sadly, I probably would have.
caffeine can kill a person too, when working on third shift a few years
ago, me and my coworkers rode the razors edge of the maximum safe caffeine
intake :P
Well but let's be honest. That would not have been the fault of the caffeine. That would have been the fault of the stupid people who drank that much of it. Good lord, dude, what were you thinking?
piss of bugger. caffeine is part of the wonderful elixir of life, I like to
call coffee. Without it the world would not run, and I would defecate at
the most inconvenient of times.
+Sean Gibbons Caffeine is for under-carbed people, get your carbs up and you won't need any caffeine but people still think carbs make you fat and at the same time are overweight and eating a meat lovers pizza
More vids, articles, free reports: //www.brinkzone.com/ "Bullet proof coffee" has become a popular addition to some people's diets, but is it all its claimed to ...
"Bulletproof" Why would you even want to take advice from a guy who gave
himself diabetes through his shitty diet?Fats, especially butter with
massive doses of saturated fat and cholesterol gives you atherosclerosis
and diabetes. If you're not against bulletproof coffee you are an idiot to
put it politely.
+Dark-sheep13 That he takes diabetes meds does not mean he has diabetes. Metformin is a drug being used by some as a possible anti aging/longevity med. Is he taking metformin? He does give a lot advice for which he has no sci/med background to give, and I consider him more a business man than any sort of health guru. I have seen people do fie on keto/VLCD eating, but it's not what I'd use or recommend.
+WillBrink Yes, he takes diabetes medication and stimulants equal to the strength to cocaine. He has "hacked" his system by taking drugs to counteract the effects of his absurdly unhealthy diet. He will "hack" his problems with anything. He lives in a thick chamber of denial. He has dedicated himself to low carb and ketogenic diets. Unfortunately as you should know this causes atherosclerosis, cancer and diabetes which increases all cause mortality. As these disease processes take place you have to do ever more increasingly insane "hacks" to stay feeling good.In his case he has to do rather insane things just to maintain a healthy body weight and reasonable mental clarity. This includes taking diabetes medication and heavy stimulants to have the energy. To "hack" his metabolic disorders. No doubt his bulletproof coffee was an earlier attempt at "hacking" feeling normal. He admits to feeling terrible for 5 years. A healthy diet does not leave you burnt out. A healthy diet does not force you to try to "hack" your way into feeling kind of ok. A healthy diet has you feeling good all of the time.Bulletproof coffee. The only way you could make sense of that nickname is if you take into account that it hardens your arteries. You were trying to be nice to the guy, you didn't want to give harsh criticism. Giving harsh criticism against the low carb cult we have brewing today incites a backlash of idiocy. Perhaps you didn't want to incite that. Perhaps you don't see what is wrong with a bit of diabetes, mental fog and atherosclerosis. Either way "bulletproof coffee" is a terrible idea.
Bulletproof coffee is as real as kim kardashian chest. It's not any
different than drinking a strong cup of freshly brewed coffee with coconut
oil and butter. They claim its last for hours, Beep! Not true! I drink a
cup and 2 hours later during a college lecture I am fighting to keep my
eyes open. Come one Dave, get real.
+Bobby Herrera they'd have to add a complex starch to make it keep a steady release, of course the very act of brewing the coffee (the heat) would break down the complex starch into a regular starch and would be more of a spike.
