cont... clearly defined and this does not help in dealing with the
complaints feminists have of the negative stereotypes they endure. One
woman in the video makes a good point about wording. As I said before the
word itself is problematic. The word 'Humanist' would clearly be much more
socially acceptable- so why isn't it endorsed? Many men are also prone to
taking in the stereotypes- partially I think because men are made to feel
guilty about their gender. For instance, most men would be cont..

Both have to compromise for the marriage to work properly. I'm giving the
example of a woman making choices since this is a topic about FEMINISM. As
i said before, i don't want to take rights away from men...i just want
people to notice the rights of women. And have you ever heard that you have
to take some sacrifices in the process of getting something you want? I'm
reffering to both sexes on this one. As equally as the male has to take
sacrifices for the woman, so does the woman for the male.

wow, not even these guys calling themselves feminist knows what it means,
and one reason is that they don't even know what it's like for men, truth
is they never cared. They say they are human, as if they hadn't been, and
don't treat men as if they are, they say it's hard to be a women as if it
wasn't to be a man. well, i don't have nothing in common with westerns
women that's for sure. What ever they are I'm not. Men we do this on our
own, take the honest women with but leave feminists to rot.

reluctant to use the word 'lady' in front of a feminist. They would be
reluctant to open a door for a feminist and would certainly not talk about
any sort of sentiments of attraction to women, because feminism has
traditionally set out to make men feel guilty about being men. I cannot
find my first comment here; it seems to be gone so I hope no one gets too
confused about points I am making. So ill finish with these thoughts. Men

This shows that you think a woman can't be a mother and business woman at
the same time. Her family will probably be in the first place....but that
isn't contradictory to feminism in ANY way. So i don't see where the
problem would be for a woman to work and the father to periodically take
care of the child? If a child can grown practically without a father then
they can do so without a mother? Where is the difference? Noone ever said
that each child should preffer to be raised by the mother.

cont.. feminist leaders who have influenced that image. The best approach
to change the image is in changing the name; like I said before, what is
wrong with 'humanism'- that does not imply a bias to either gender. For our
part, men shouldn't simply dismiss feminists as 'lesbians' or 'men- haters'
because this is insulting and childish. I am aware I have hogged a lot of
space here so ill stop- if anyone gets confused its because I think I
accidently deleted my first comment. THANKS everyone.

Feminsm has an aloof definition and it's an unmodern way of thinking, thats
why I hate it. I don't think "women are people" is a radical
notion(1:55-2:00), to say that is childish and unnessisary. Everyone knows
that women are people, it's illegal to discriminate against women in the
workplace just as much as it is on the basis of race, creed, religion, ect.
Feminists are for "freedom" but they are against allowing women to choose
prostituting themselves if the wanted to, counterproductive.

equal rights and the feminist movement as a whole would appear to have been
deathly silent on this; the most notable issue is in parental rights,
whereby fathers allmost allways get a raw deal. If feminism is truly a
movement about equality, leading feminists should publicly say this is
clearly wrong. Another problem is in establishing exactly what equality
means. Is it in wages, oppertunities...? Feminism is not cont...

The women that CAN do a good job at both DO exist....and i know some of
them. Though if a woman can't take on both because of personal reasons then
she has to decide. But again, that decision isn't connected with feminism.
Even if a woman choses her family over work (which would be moral) then she
can still call herself a feminist. Like i said in my first post
here....feminism is giving women the ability to make their own choices?
Once again, the woman in this example made her own choice!

cont.. must be about equality for men as well in areas where that is an
issue. Instead of complaining about the stereotypes, feminists should do
more to change them. Making men feel guilty for being men is not the
answer. For instance I am attracted to women and I refuse to feel guilty
for that because it is in my makeup. I respect women as intellectually
equal and I am not a big fan of lads mags or porn. If many men do have the
wrong idea about feminism, it is partly the fault of cont..

The issue at hand is feminism overall and it's negative effect on society.
It isn't hysteria...ironic word...for men to object to: being portrayed as
buffoons or villians, having various academic and governmental resources
made available to women only, being presumed to be a lesser parent in
custody cases, abortion, general male-bashing, women-specific laws,
military drafts for men only, affirmative action for women but not for men,
the feminist need for unearned entitlements, et cetera.

cont.. achieved due to liberal feminism now replacing the radical movements
of the past. However many people, men and women still assosiate the WORD
with many connotations; FEMIN ism. Whether fair or not, the word itself is
still threatening to many people, particularly men as it implies bias. It

I quote myself: "The idea of feminism gives women the ability to make their
own decisions without being worried that their husband or any other man in
their life will try to stop them." The husband can give his opinion...but
he can not forbid her to that. If the woman at hand wants to do so and
thinks it's best for any reason (family, herself or anything else) then why
not? The main point is that she has the right to make decisions and the
chance to think with HER brain.

continued.. You don't even have to feel left out when people talk about
"man" being this and that, and can see nothing wrong with "Girl", "pussy"
and "cunt" being insulting. You don't even have to worry about how f---ed
up that is because thank god you're not a girl. You don't have to be scared

The great majority of rapes and general sexual harrassment is done to women
and you know it. Yeah, part of that is the result of biological differences
in strength, etc., but another is the social environment that allows it to
happen, e.g. women being blamed for rape because "they were asking for it".
You're just turning a wilful blind eye to what happens to women, only
looking at the ones in privileged positions (take a look at women in
poverty, they suffer the most).

Exactly, it /would/ help companies to disregard sex when hiring employees,
because in non-physical labour woman as a worker is equal to man. But
prejudice lives on. The thing is, most people who discriminate against
women don't even realize they're doing it. That's why even /women/
discriminate against women in this society. How many people wonder why a
woman with multiple sex partners gets called a slut and a man doing the
same thing is a hero?
