Hi Barry, This is Mike Hohlweg the author of the video and digestive disorder books you are commenting on. You ask "Is this man medically qualified?" in your post. The short answer is no, absolutely not (I know you mean: am I a doctor or do I have medical training of some sort). The sad fact is that people with diverticulitis, colitis or Crohn's have a bleak prognosis including pain meds, prescribed meds, resections, recurring attacks and flare-ups and hospital visits throughout their life ending in a doctor suggesting surgical removal of the colon, none of which cure or heal the problem. People continue to go to doctors because patients don't know that this pattern of failure has been repeated millions of times and that no doctor has ever cured a single patient of any digestive disorder. If you don't believe me, ask one. While none of those truths give me any right to claim supremacy over doctors, I do have evidence that my daughter and I are on the right path in our research. We don't claim to cure or heal diverticulitis but we have thousands of clients past and present who tell us that our dietary methods eliminate most or all symptoms of the disorder. Barry I hope you are the exception to the rule, that for 3 out of 4 diverticulitis patients, the problem gets worse over time. You are correct that smaller meal size is helpful. Most people start out with a flare-up and go to the ER thinking they have appendicitis or are dying. They get antibiotics (generally terrible for patients in the long run but necessary to get through the flare-up) and pain meds. Within a day to a week, the flare-up subsides and they feel the medical treatment saved them. Usually within two years they have another flare-up and repeat their nightmare and drugs. They always feel and hope that it is over with, but the "norm" is that flare-ups not only continue but increase in frequency. At some point after years of suffering, most people realize that doctors don't fix this and they seek other methods. While my daughter and I are not doctors, we have coached thousands of people through diverticulitis with a success rate over 90%. Coaching is always free although we do charge for our book. Sorry if that offends you.We don't hide from people and both of us will speak to you via email or phone and answer the toughest questions you have to your satisfaction. Go to the website diverticulitispainfreefoods.com and you will find our story, honest testimonials, along with our email address and phone number. But like you said, you believe that decreasing the size of your meals will do the trick and perhaps you are right. Good luck to you Barry. Sincerely Mike Hohlweg
Hospital 4 years ago with diverticulitis, minor flare up 2 years later and
another 2 years after that. Watch what you eat. No belly buster meals
anymore and it rarely bothers me. In my case eating nuts causes problems.
+Barry Mann Nuts I suspect are causing pain, also: I suspect MSG, NSAIDS, and tough meat (like ground meat).
