I am going to say africa or india. I do remember hearing that people
suffer from massive goiters in 3rd world countries due to the lack of
sodium in their diet.
Fibrous Dysplasia is a rare worldwide genetic bone disease, due to a mutation in the phex gene. It has nothing to do with diet. There is no known cause, cure, or even proven treatment. Often times, when they cut it out, it will grow back worse.
It's not scar tissue. It's much harder, yet not quite as hard as bone. It
replaces the bone, too. Thanks for bringing awareness to this disease, but
I can't help but feel this video is rushed, and the true reason for it is
to rush through a quick explanation of what's going on with an ugly case of
it. You really didn't show or say much on the actual disease.
+Jj Reine I have polyostotic fibrous dysplasia. If you'd like to know a little bit about it, I did upload a rare disease awareness day video on it and x-linked hypophosphatemia. I plan on doing more work for the cause in the future. I am actually working on earning some money through a new job for start up funds for a rare disease non profit organization.
What could possible be wrong with this woman's legs? Are these cysts, boils, blisters, abscesses? What is causing this and what would be the official diagnosis?
I have the same stuff and wish I could find out what it is. One Dr. said it was impehtigo. however, when this first started several years ago, I started a new medicine which made me believe it was an allergic reaction to the medicine. This is the best I've got in guess work. thank you. please email me and tell me what it is please. [email protected].
It's Eczema, Dr. Gilmore +John Gilmore, MD. Itching, scabbing, blanching...
The coloring and shape is right, but I'm not used to seeing it in this
pattern on more than a small area. I'll sometimes get it on my wrists and
the back of my hands. Psoriasis is a potential, but it doesn't fit right to
me. With the Psoriasis I've seen, plenty of white scaling is usually
present when there's that much coverage. So my answer is: Eczema.
Btw, this is surprisingly interesting. I enjoy a mystery, and it's fun to
feel like part of a "team" working on a medical mystery. Even when the
doctor is clearly in the know. :-)
I forgot to say that the cause of Eczema is not really known, but it could be an inherited condition, and some docs think it's related to allergic disease, like hay fever or asthma. Eczema can be irritated by soaps, detergents and chlorine, as well as dish-washing liquids and bubble-bath, among other things. (Personally, I find that anything which continually dries out an affected area, like over-washing, can make it flare up.) Btw, I doubt myself a lil bit, because I don't know if it can cover such a large area, and if it isn't "normal" for it to occur in this way I would dump that theory and look for more symptoms/puzzle pieces. Lol, sorry to be so detailed...I probably wouldn't be so interested if I weren't an unsolved medical mystery myself. Or a fan of "House". ;-)
My father in law is a PA. He ruled out shingles based on the location on the body.
What is a Carbuncle? Cysts, Boils and Carbuncles!
In my opinion, carbuncles are kind of like super boils... and I don't want one. They just seem so painful and hard to treat. What do you think? What are your ...
Wow, these are some VERY angry infections! I think I would rather have the
cyst, but neither would be just fine! ;) The one guy's neck looked
horrible! Black Salve should do the trick. LOL
+Billy Ho Nah, Black Salve causes holes like that. Not a doctor (going to put that out here now), but I've had a carbuncle before, and the only way to truly get rid of it is to have minor surgery done. They cut an X shaped incision across the entire site and drain it like an abcess. A carbuncle is a deep tissue infection and you can't just get rid of them by squeezing and cleaning (in fact, this can cause them to grow larger).
Omg! Mr Blackheads! You continue To amaze me lol. I LOVE watching cysts and
such but never even heard of Carbunkle!......The worst I've seen yet! So
interesting! Thx and keep up the knowledge
I treated a patient with carbuncles on her thighs they caused her pain and
they drained that yellow mucous constantly. It was easy to go through a
pack of 2x2s during her dressing changes. Her wounds needed to be flushed
with at least 2 bottles of saline each dressing change and after the 3 that
I took care of for 4 weeks 2 more opened up.
Ouch. How are they now?If you get a chance, please check out //cystbursting.com. We will be really building it out in the coming weeks. U may want to bookmark it. :)
+Veronica Martinez I don't think you would be saying that. If you had them. They aren't small or painless. They drain purulent puss, they smell and their nasty.
