Perioral Dermatitis
Here's my whole dermatitis story: //www.soreyfitness.com/?p=2095 Tired of trying to treat my dermatitis with all kinds of shots, medicine, and creams.
Why does every dermatologist prescribe steroids for dermatitis if they know
it makes it worse? I just found out that I've been washing my face with
steroids for five years!! My derm makes his own compounds and silly me, I
never researched the ingredients. I had a flare up 2 years ago, took
Prednisone and thought it was gone. Two weeks ago while on vaca in Paris it
came back. I've been researching natural remedies and came across your
page. I'm going to try yogurt and CO and will get back to ya!
I've had it going on for months now (bad break up)! And it recently started
migrating toward my nose after going from one side of my mouth to the
other. So I made an appointment with the doctor and finally learned this
thing had a name and was relieved it wasn't some kind of STI, cancer, or
w/e lol! So like you I googled and found a natural remedy at Earth Clinic.
So had some plain Greek yogurt around and have been applying it for 2 days
now and the dermatitis is flattening and drying out!! :)
I think I have this. The same exact thing has been happening to me, too. I
have an appointment with the dermatitis on the 12th (about 2 weeks).
Benadryl creams and corisone cream seem to help with the redness for now,
but the bumps are still there and kinda red. Its VERY irritating because I
dont want to put makeup on it and make it worse. So i feel like everyone is
looking at it...Does anyone know if grapeseed oil would help? I know it
helps with inflammation but I dont want to make it worse!
Best cure i've found is grapefruit seed extract. Absolute worst tasting
shit you'll ever put in your mouth, but it's worth it. I also put it on the
rash. I don't have the pimply rashes anymore, just 2 semi red blotches
under both corners of my mouth, which have been fading more and more as I
continue my treatment, which has been DRAINING. I also take fish oil, 8
tbsps of organic whole flax seed a day and various other supps. When mine
was really bad I also ate 3-4 cloves of garlic, def helped.
I have been searching for info everywhere and i am struggling to get a
doctors appointment at the moment :( i am worried that it will always come
back .how long are you clear of it for ? And do you still do the yogurt and
the coconut oil? I am worried to change my make up cleaners etc i feel so
stuck its a horrible feeling having to think of what u can use etc plus i
feel like im looking terrible .every morning i wake up and the fist thing
in my head is dermatitis arghh .enough of me moaning i
I have not been formally diagnosed, but this is what I have. There is no
mistaking it from pictures. Mine doesn't itch or anything.. It's just
annoying! I hear it's called the muzzle disease.. I can see why, since it
stays right around my mouth.. Nasal labial folds.. Up under my nose and
around my chin. I have this UGLY REALLY tiny red bumps (some look like
blisters) around my mouth and it just looks diseased. I wont leave the
house. Mine is also from stress. MAJOR STRESS! :( I hate it. :( :(
I couldn't agree more! I haven't found a fav yet, but I have avoided any
cleansers/moisturizers with Sodium lauryl sulfate. It is a known skin
irritant and even considered somewhat toxic in other countries (I'm in the
US). I've also started writing in a journal every night after reading that
dermatitis can be triggered by stress--because it is your skin's way of
defending itself. I am not sure if the mask or writing has helped more but
its FINALLY clearing up! I hope yours does very soon!
I used hydrocortisone cream for 18mths as prescribed although now they
think its perioral dermatitis & to stop using it & to start on anitbiotics.
I dont have blisters its just dry sore burning skin. 4 days into your
regime & I understand that my skin will be worse after the cream but its
now a week since I stopped using it and it is so sore.I'm perservering with
your suggestions, how long did it take before you started to see a
difference? Desparate as suffered for 10 years now! Thank you
I'm so sorry you have had to deal with the rash for 10 years! :( How are
you doing 5 days in? I would recommend using just the coconut oil because
the yogurt's acid is what helps the blisters and the coconut oil soothes
the inflamed skin. Antibiotics should help, but I started taking zinc (just
from the grocery store) twice a day because my dermatologist recommended
it. I noticed a difference in redness with the mask within 24 hours, then
zinc & antibiotics began to work almost as quickly
I have had perioral dermatitis on and off since 2001. I think I am coming
to the conclusion that the reason that it seems to be stress-related is
that when our bodies undergo severe stress for a long period of time, our
bodies stop functioning optimally. When we are stressed or are
sleep-deprived, or both, I think we don't absorb nutrients as well; Also,
sugar does not help.It is one of the worst inflammatory substances, and it
interferes with important immunity and cleansing functions.
I'm 26, a male & have 2 PD blotches. Never used any steroids on my face or
anything. Only thing I ever used but haven't for a long time, was
proactiv.. I 100% blame Arm & Hammer extreme whitening toothpaste. I used
fluoride free toothpaste since I was 20. Switched over to A&H at 24, got PD
6 months later. Since I have it I notice lots of other people having
it..even lots of men. I don't think most realize it though. It can be yeast
related, but more times then not, it's chemical related.
I just want to say thanks for making these videos.Your vids have helped me
not feel so alone and hopeless. I'm currently on antibiotic and azalic acid
cream to try to get rid of it. It is so stubborn. I think my hormones make
it worse/cause it. But also heat and humidity cuz I had it last summer and
it went away in fall/winter and now it's back. I have it in the lines
around my mouth. It is mild but still frustrating. Are you using Basis
cleanser still? I think I may try it.
@areYouSerious41 Im SO glad you wrote---I hate to say it because I know you
want to use anything or everything to make it go away but corisone and
benadryl creams will make it worse long term. The active ingredients bleach
your skin, thin your skin (so your blister looking bumps could bleed), and
also are addictive. I'm so sorry you have it, but I know your doctor will
be able to help. Try coconut oil to help the itch and check out my other
video on zinc. Id start it asap!
@SoreyFitness Hi there. I thought I should report my results for the 1st
week. Well...after about 3 days or so, it seemed like the inflammation was
starting to get worse. I stopped the yogurt and coconut oil (but im still
taking the zinc) and started using Aveeno Calamine & Pramoxine HCI cream.
The redness is almost completely gone now. My skin has started to peel a
little bit and it seems much better now. I wish the yogurt and coconut oil
worked for me, but it didnt.
Hi and thank you for the video .i havent tried coconut oil yet but i tried
a yogurt mask s fee days ago and didnt see much of s difference but i will
try again.it gave me a burning feeling doh not dure if thats ok. Also your
story is very similiar to mine i had it las year this time and used
antibiotics my doctor gave me and it was gone about 2-3 months and i kinda
forgot about it but it came back now and i am really reslly stressed about
it:(((
@SoreyFitness Im taking the Zinc and the rash is healing, not been as sore
over the past few days. I do find the skin feels alot better after the
yoghurt too and Im using the coconut oil all the time. Think it may take a
while to heal due to all of the creams I've used over the years. I will let
you know if and when my chin returns to normality. Thank you for posting
this you are like an angel sent though youtube! Much appreciated!

Thank you so much & I really hope it helps you! It is an awful skin rash to
have to deal with, and the worse part is it hits when you are young! UGH! I
don't know it if it helps long-term but Vaseline helped my burning & also
tamed the redness for a day or so if I had a big event coming up (just put
it on before bed the night before). But I don't think it helps cure
it...just a temporary fix if you get desperate. Good luck!
Thanks for these tips! I've had perioral dermatitis for a few weeks now. I
will try natural yoghurt. My dermatologist told me to try this steroid
cream Cultivate, which was a complete mistake. Don't use anything with
steroids in it guys! It gets better but then comes back worse. And no
moisturizers or anything that has the consistency of cream/milk. Only gel
washers and coconut oil for moisture. Greetings from Lithuania!
Mine started to get worse after i started to use moisturizers on my face.
When i don't use any type of skin care products it looks to me like it goes
away. I hate it just makes me not want to go out and hang out with my
friends. I can't handle the burning either it's just so bad. I'm going to
try this method and i hope it works. This video deserves more views it's
very informative and just awesome.lol
@melanzanify Wow! Austria!! How cool! :) I don't know if you have if over
there but I use Crest Cavity Protection which was recommended by my doctor.
I believe (I'm not a doctor) fluoride is okay, it's the whitening
ingredients that could start and worsen dermatitis. So you want to avoid
anything with whitening. Make sure to read the package carefully sometimes
they sneak it in lol
Hi, it's Fiona from Ontario Canada (i've asked you a couple questions
before and soooo appreciate your input!) I only have 4 more weeks of my
tetracycline left, so my questions are,,, did u notice a flare up after u
finished your antibiotics? and how do you take the antibiotic with the zinc
as i know they can interfear with eachother? Thanks a bunch! Fiona
