A slideshow of Vincent Van Gogh's work set to the song "Vincent" by Don McLean. It's part of an art and creative writing lesson plan for the patients at Mississippi ...
This song always makes me (a 72-year-old man) cry. I don't know exactly
why: it's so many things. It is a love song, a lament for a great painter.
I have always been drawn to Van Gogh, the man, his story and his paintings.
He is now recognized as arguably the greatest of his time (maybe any time)
and his work is valued almost priceless. In his time he was ignored,
misunderstood, and he could never quite paint what he wanted to show. He
obviously was a depressive mentally and it finally killed him. The saddest
tragedy for us is that his suicide stole from us who knows how many
wonderful paintings. Starry Night is only one of them. It is an entirely
accurate picture of the starry sky from the window of the attic where he
lived in the last months of his life. The stars, great orbs of colour are
positioned just where they would have been on that date at that minute in
the night sky. Oh, Vincent.
+Rina Deocades The writer and singer of the song, Don Mclean, wrote it about the 1900th century painter Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh was mentally ill, misunderstood, unappreciated and poor during his life but became known as a great artist after his death by suicide. All of the paitings you see in this video are made by Van Gogh. This song is simply about Mcleans love of Van Gogh and his paintings.
thank you and I appreciate your comment, but I would like to ask if it is not about love in a romantic sense, then what kind of love that this song refers to? thank u so much...
VIVA I PARTIGIANI!!!!!!!
MYSTIC - Ritmo de la Noche - ULTRA RARE - only screened ONCE on tv before it was pulled because of a story about the "singer" in the UK Sunday Scandal ...
Bello comunque!
+Mrphilharmonic Believe me - it takes long, very long. The secret is: You must bounce with your wrist, what means you must use the backward-up-movement of the keys and transform that into speed. Keith generally plays it with raw power and that´s what ruined his right hand. I wonder why his left hand still works. Maybe because our left hands have more strength due to the average stuff they have to play.
Hey, the reason Mister Emerson took this gig was to force himself to practice. Keith's original recording of the Meade Lux Lewis tune was much better. He should have just improvised a new solo, I still jam over some of Keith's ostinato's.
+Yalic Nurdov Tu as raison Yalic.
Lake and Palmer) ??? Salut!!!
Mario Monti resignation prompts Berlusconi return fears
Nick Squires in Rome says polls indicate the centre- left Democratic Party are likely to win the next election, but the prospect of Silvio Berlusconi returning to ...
First, Berlusconi is the leader of his party and he has the right to stand
again. Second, Monti WAS NEVER ELECTED by the Italian people. Third, the
Left is absolutely useless. Fourth, Italy is run by the EU anyway.
Mina & A. Celentano _ Parole parole _ 1972
Parodistic interpretation of this classic Mina song. The original duet with Alberto Lupo.
