Revisiting the video I notice she says "sunshine sunshine" instead of
"Sonnenschein Sonnenschein."
Nein das keine bewusstseinskontrolle, das ist nicht die richtige Candence

I love how Europe doesnt have any good voice actors, so we end up with
stuff like this where it sounds like MLP was dubbed by a high school drama
class, or worse yet maybe even a single person did all the voices. XD
+HanzVonStickyhooves Originally, the term Panzerfaust was a certain weapon in ww2, but nowadays it's pretty much the German word for bazooka. And the Bundeswehr and the army of Switzerland use a weapon called "Panzerfaust 3".Also, the RPG-7 is based on the RPG-2 which was based directly on the original Panzerfaust. And you don't even need to research all that much because it's all on fucking wikipedia.Plus, the fact that Panzerfaust is used as a synonym for bazooka is so basic that even I knew it.
Well, coming from the north, i'd take a stab at spain/france any day of the week for their literal translations. They made the whole thing work and didn't have to change the story to do it. As for video games there aren't going to be any vocal music numbers, no real time limit. More importantly no one is going to play a MMO with a german hud and english chat. Video games turn out bad 'cause the game wasn't programed to be dubbed or the demand is simply not big enough to buy 'good' actors.
+MrOrder67 I'd like to direct you to the German Photo Finish episode, or the Boast Busters episode. Or the fact that everyone says "Futashy" when referring to Fluttershy. Or the fact that most of the German versions songs alter the lyrics extremely. Or the German dub of Battlefield 3 which called an RPG-7 a "Panzerfaust" from WW2 and replaces most words with "shit". Or "Michigan: Report From Hell", a video game only released in Japan and Europe that was dubbed in English by Europeans. Its the worst thing ever made.
+HanzVonStickyhooves Don't insult Julia Meynen or i'll punch you in the face.Still, the german dub was the only one where they had decent actors for all the characters. Even though they sounded horrible in the first season, you can't say that they're bad because they don't have silly accents.
+ZenoDovahkiin Yep, I'm fine with generalizing an entire continent. Most of my experience with European voice acting is from the video game and anime industry, where they have always been atrocious.
Sure you want to generalise it that far? I mean, there is a lot of great voice acting in Disney movies, for example. I agree that a lot of things should rather be watched in the original language, but I think we do have awesome voice actors here as well, at least in Germany. MLP doesn't seem to hold up to the original, though I didn't really watch much of it in German.
