The Idealist View of Reality - Professor Keith Ward

+mastertheillusion yes the world can exist without your mind or mine but can it exist without any mind behind it? Matterialism is incompatible with quantum mechanics.
Soren Kierkegaard asked the materialist if love exists or hope or mercy.
If it were so, as conceited sagacity, proud of not being deceived, thinks,
that we should believe nothing that we cannot see with our physical eyes,
then we first and foremost ought to give up believing in love. If we were
to do so and do it out of fear lest we be deceived, would we not then be
deceived? We can, of course, be deceived in many ways. We can be deceived
by believing what is untrue, but we certainly are also deceived by not
believing what is true.
We can be deceived by appearances, we certainly are also deceived by the
sagacious appearance, by the flattering conceit that considers itself
absolutely secure against being deceived. Which deception is more
dangerous? Whose recovery is more doubtful, that of the one who does not
see, or that of the person who sees and yet does not see? Which is more
difficult-to awaken someone who is sleeping or to awaken someone who,
awake, is dreaming that he is awake?
Which is sadder, the sight that promptly and unconditionally moves one to
tears, the sight of someone unhappily deceived in love, or the sight that
in a certain sense could tempt laughter, the sight of the self-deceived,
whose fatuous conceit of not being deceived indeed is ridiculous and
laughable if the ridiculousness of it were not an even stronger expression
of horror, since it shows that he is not worthy of tears. To defraud
oneself of love is the most terrible, is an eternal loss, for which there
is no compensation in time or in eternity. Ordinarily, when it is a matter
of being deceived in love, however different the case may be, the one
deceived is still related to love, and the deception is one that the love
was not where it was thought to be, but the self-deceived person has locked
and is locking himself out of love.
There is also talk about being deceived by life or in life, but the one who
in his self-deception deceived himself out of living-his loss is
irreparable. Even for someone who all his life has been deceived by life,
eternity can have rich compensation in store, but the self-deceived person
has prevented himself from winning the eternal. Indeed, what has the person
actually lost who, because of his love, became a victim of human deception
if it turns out that in eternity that love remains, whereas the deception
has ended!

+Craig Campbell They exist as behaviors. Therefore they exist? Problems with logic here? Or can't see reality for what it is? I guess so, for religion does this to people all over the world.Sorry, reality trumps this junk and always will.
+andrew armour Yah he says plenty of rather silly things, for a so called professor.I saw the word divinity in there so I can understand the weakly thought out rationalizing he was doing.
If it's a philosophical basis for belief in God , why stop at just the one
, lets have whole Pantheons and then we can argue that They made the
Universe as some kind of elaborate joke. This stuff has GOT TO GO
Dr. Stephen Hicks, Professor of Philosophy at Rockford University, presents a series of lectures on the philosophy of education. In Part 7, Dr. Hicks covers the ...
On the issue of monism versus dualism, some idealists were dualists, such
as Plato who believed in a crude, objective material world - others not,
such as George Berkeley, who was a monist. But Hicks's approach to the
subject is unbelievably tilted in Clip 2. In explaining idealism, he makes
it sound almost materialistic. He comes off like the big epistemological
issue for idealists is how they can explain mind/spirit. Hell, idealism is
all about skepticism of the MATERIAL world, not pessimism about discerning
the world of mind. Hell, Kant said mind is the whole shooting match for us
because any objective world outside mind is unknowable, trapped as we are
in the phenomenology / representations in our heads. Berkeley was a monist
and said there is no objective material world, whatsoever. Berkeley's
entire approach was making materialism look ridiculous, and rather
successfully so. The guy in the video acts like the poor idealists are all
about defending how we can know God. Bullshit. Hicks also makes no
reference to the surge in popularity of monistic idealism, stemming from
findings in quantum science, refuting materialism ever more compellingly
since the 1920s

The one part of iNFP that I am not is unkempt. I cut my hair every week and
trim beard every week. I can't stand being dirty or unclean and I am a
great dresser. I have enough clothes for 10 people.
Ikr? Why's he telling us what to do and how to react? We can't change how we respond to these things... That's why we're INFPs... He's asking us to change our personalities basically...
+MY NAME yeah, but we have imagination. That sound lame but we can do things they can't. I like math. I might as well become a doctor or something. You have your fate in your hands. You can change it right now. Are you going to stop believing in your dreams just cuz you are an INFP? No! I say we kick their ass and be something and show the world we can be anything we want. Holy shit..I really need to do something with writing..I can't say these things but I can write them lol
That's the thing about our personality is that we really wish for perfection in the world we live in and the way we live plus the way we all wanted to live like. But our cognitive function functions only for imagination. I mean look at what our jobs can be its really lame if you google INFP career list It just shows lame jobs for us weirdos. If only I was born an INTP with no feeling but thinking have you even seen careers for INTPs. They're **cking nerds(no offense I wish I was one) Their jobs listed in science, engineer, and math. The only job in science for us is psychology. It's really easy to tell what others are feeling nor thinking right off the bat since we specialize in feelings. The thing is I can't change who I am but what I can do in order for me to create a world of perfection is "knowledge." The more you know the more you earn and If you know everything you can do anything.
I never knew I was only one percentage of the world. I'm like a rare
Pokemon! Basically every word of this video was completely true for me. I
usually find most people tend to find me difficult to understand. I value
close friendships more than a large group of friends any day. It also
explains where my creatve and caring nature comes from. I can spot when
someone I know is upset from a mile away too.
(I'm Jermaine...that person who made the video.) Thank you for the
compliment. I hope that you will watch the three-part video series I've
uploaded on the Idealist temperament. It has about another 45 minutes of
information about Idealists which I hope you will find to be rather helpful.
I find it interesting that INFJ video has much more views than videos of
other types uploaded around the same time, although INFJ is the rarest
type. An INFJ from Japan.
There was a video about INFJs on you tube that got deleted. The title of
the video was INFJ facial features. Does anyone know the name of the song
on that video ???
wow ...thank you soo very much for posting, and helping me understand how
to take responsibility for my own energy. Blessings to you and everyone
