As always, your explanations are crystal clear. Thank you.
I own a number of Jeff Sengstack's training courses.
What particularly impresses me is that he has genuine empathy with the
learner. This is a significant skill and talent. He approaches a training
topic presuming that the learner is starting that feature/process with no
prior knowledge of it.
I have so many training courses where I feel like shouting at the trainer:
"Yes, but what's that thing for?" or "What did you just do?" For example, I
have a beginner course on Vue Esprit. In it, when you click on an object, a
control icon appears with lots of buttons and things. The trainer didn't
even mention it... though he used it extensively. I was constantly
rewinding the video to try and fathom out what on earth he'd just done. I
don't even know the name of the wretched thing! Although the program cost
me a lot of money, I've given up. At my late stage of life, I just don't
have enough time left to wallow in inadequate guesswork, rather than
benefit from iterative knowledge!
But Jeff - without being patronising in any way - takes things step by
step... in exactly the way that the learner needs: building, not just
stabbing around in the dark. A real pro.
+Lukman Warholl In Premiere Pro CC you need to expand the tracker header sufficiently (double-click the header and, if necessary, drag the bottom of the header down) to see the Show Keyframes [diamond] button. Click it and choose Track Keyframes > Volume. In P Pro CS6, expand the audio track header by clicking the disclosure triangle, click the Show Keyframes [diamond] button and choose Show Track Keyframes.
Thanks again Jeff. I have always muddled through and managed to get the
desired sound volumes - now I know what I have been doing and how to do it
faster. Understanding how to deepen the view of a sound channel is so
useful. Cheers - Mike.
Hello Jeff,
Thanks for the awesome tutorial. I need to know that is there any short
keys to overwrite a clip from source monitor to the timeline without the
audio. I am using adobe premiere pro CS6. It will be very helpful to speed
up my editing.
Thank you in advance,
Shashinth.
+Jeff Sengstack Thanks Jeff. Ya i know that. Well i think there is no shortcut for overwriting without audio. Anyway thanks for the quick response. I have watched most of your videos on linda.com. Your video tutorials are very easy to understand and detailed. Very helpful. Keep up the good work.
+BJCINEMATICS I don't know of a shortcut to do that. But it's easy to do a video-only Overwrite without a shortcut. Simply mark the In and Out points in the Source Monitor and then drag the film icon (below the Source monitor screen) to the video clip you want to overwrite. If, instead, you want to make an Insert edit, hold down the Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) as you place the clip.
I often use keyframes to control the audio in premiere, but I've run into a
problem several times now, that the audio ignores a keyframe fade-in. I may
have accidentally touched the bypass button. But even if I remove effects
from the clip and redo the volume keyframes it's still a problem. The
keyframes work if there is only one of them, changing the volume of the
entire clip, but if there is a fade, the keyframes are ignored. I've tried
all options with turning on and off the bypass, but with no effect. So i'm
not sure that is the issue. I'm sure it's something very basic, but I can't
spot the problem. Any ideas?
