joshua landis always talks about what might/can/will happen to alawites and never what assad is doing to sunnis at the moment! always frightening the US with visions of iraq to not intervening! syria is not iraq!--syria is 80% sunnis and there will be a bomb here and there but above all, the sunnis will agree and rebuild syria! as for chaos: you cant have bigger chaos than this!-110.000 deaths, 7 million refugees and chemical weapons used on children and whole cities destroyed!

but the zeal with which he describes that which has not even happened to alawites and his astonishing scaring tactics; the same which were used by serbs in the bosnian war to prevent any intervention when after all intervention proved key to solving that civil war! Joshua landis is married to an alawite and his biggest message is always "don't intervene!" because "it will only make things worse!" and "america cannot win!" How can this slaughter become any worse?

Well she is right about one thing.... We should NOT be involved in this conflict. Obama is dead wrong on this issue. It is a civil war in a country that is over 90% Muslim. The allawites/shia muslims vs the sunni muslims. There are some Christians caught in the middle. Essentially the allawite gov't is supported by the Shias in Lebanon ( hezbuallah), Iraq and Iran and the sunnis are supported by Al Qaeda. Why bother getting involved when your two worst enemies are at war? What benefit is there?

If they don't want to be americans then go back to where they came from. USA is a christian country and we welcome others as long as they honor america. i hope she understands what she is saying. allah doesn't mean muslim god. allah means god in arabic. just dios is god in spanish. there are christian arabs that call god allah because they speak arabic and not english. god and allah are one and the same. I am a christian and understand that she made a joke about god which i do not like. it was ignorant. again allah does not mean muslim god. it means god. im not an arab so i dont call god allah but if i was i would. allah is arabic not muslim.

Where did you come from. You must be one of Obama's paid people. Sarah never ran for president. Many would have liked her to.I know that there is a lot for you to understand but It is between muslims so let allah sort it out.USA has been in too much over there already. We help them out then they are wanting to kill us.Those people have been killing each other since the beginning of time and they haven't changed. When you accomplish 1/3 of the things I have in life, you can attack me. Until then I can absolutely state my opinion that is completely based on the obvious. Any person who insults an entire religion with a remark such as this is undoubtedly a despicable creature. Her phrase was without question meant to incite a radical response from the right, along with everything else she says. I'm a moderate, but thanks for the liberal label. :)

Have you seen the THOUSANDS of videos of the Syrian regime murdering, raping, and torturing the Syrian people? You're hung up on one video, one incident that the Syrian regime purposely blew up as a tool of propaganda, depicting the rebels as inhumane people so that Americans wouldn't provide them with arms. Look a the bigger picture, sir. Syria is dying by the second and Americans are sitting down, watching it and letting it happen.
