Do you have to uninstall windows before doing this, and if so how do you uninstall windows :D

You should NOT use a card to smooth out your thermal paste as you will add aor bubbles. A proper amount in the center will spread adequately plus the CPU die itself is much smaller than the heat spreader anyway.

Ah.. i see.  So you recommend the ball in the center method.  I will try that too.  Luckily, no overheating issues using the wrong credit card method.  Thanks.

+Sean O'Brien Its the type of socket Intel CPU's are using, they have different sockets such as LGA-2011. Mak sure the number behind LGA is matching on the CPU and motherboard before you install any CPU.

I think intel should just screw the socket on the motherboard instead of soldering that way you can just buy a replacement for $10, I had to buy a z97 A because my z97mx had ONE bent pin, JUST ONE!!!!!!!!!!!! and I had to pay about $200 for a new one. sorry if I sound like an idiot, I just dont see why it wouldnt work that way. correct me if I am wrong

+Matt_thatoneguy yes, i think a double sided lga socket would be nice, with 4 screws , you can replace it in 5 min.

What's the point of even releasing skylake when it's a slight improvement. Also they could be using that money to research graphene processors like IBM is doing. IBM made a graphene processor that clocked out at 427ghz

Ok, can someone help me out here. Basically, once I've removed my old dead Motherboard and replaced it with the new one and put everything back on the PC, what do you mean by boot to CD or USB flash drive. What is the USB supposed to have on it. My PC before it died was on windows 8 and I bought it without a windows disc and it was already installed. Thanks
