Interestingly then when Paris was attacked by Vikings it was around 900 AD, which means it was possibly 100 BC, during the Roman Empire.... Which obviously had to be in decline at that point for Paris to not think of itself as Roman. Things like that pop into my mind that need to be reconciled.
