I love the idea I have a range of Makita tools that all use the same battery pack so this is the perfect solution to working at home where you have access to power. Like others have said it would be better to fit the transformer into the battery compartment or add a jack and then add a hatch so you can store your bits in the compartment. I think I will give this a go myself. Great work

+Nick Rider Thanks Nick!

it actually passes through an inline fuse. it protects the charger if the battery overcharges. it is not going to a capicator.....

+JIMMY TATE cool... thanks for the tip Jimmy:)

Couldn't you simply replace the batteries in the battery compartment? 15 batteries? What type and size are they?

+Gayle Posey Sometimes its the same to just buy another drill than a new battery. The prices are pretty shitty :D

+homesteadonomics thanks for the response! Understand the ridiculous price for replacement batteries! Look forward to more of your vids!

+Gayle Posey Hi Gayle... I actually looked for replacement cells and it would've cost about the same as a new battery pack. But it was more of an experiment to see if it would work... not the best, but it was fun to try:) Thanks for watching:)

Why not just get a regular 120V drill and epoxy a huge useless box onto the bottom? If you are going to covert it to a cord, cut the friggen bottom plate off, toss the battery housing and attach the wire.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
The battery box helps balance the drill. Should add a little weight to it as well. Also the edges could cut you w/o the battery box. Also great way to hide it store things!

+homesteadonomics I have an 18V Dewalt and an old Masterforce 18V drill, both gathering dust (Materforce is in a re-purposed Dewalt drill box) for a lack of decent, functioning batteries. The Masterforce had a bad charger and I was lucky enough to find a Menards that still had one (discontinued) and then a week later, the battery died! The Dewalt never seemed all that powerful until I tried a new battery pack.

+archangel20031 haha... well, the thought was that I'd be able to use it with the other tools. But the power is only enough to work the drill, light and radio. That's why I don't ever claim to be any expert... because many of these experiments have different levels of success... thanks for watching:)

Great idea! Plus you could stash a twinkie in the empty battery case in case you get the munchies.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0Ervdlbxm38/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAOI/0hDVzsa1qAM/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Muddy Fences Yes, a twinkie would be about the right fit:) ... and make the work go by faster!Joe

+homesteadonomics Thanks for your response... i made it and work well :), but it seems not fully power speeding of drill like using battery.do you have any view on that ? thank you
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0Ervdlbxm38/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAOI/0hDVzsa1qAM/photo.jpg?sz=64
+NgheNoiTot .Com I'm not sure about the adapter working with your tool but it's worth a try:) It's hard to say for sure as they all have different power requirements. anyways, hope that helps and thanks for watching:)

I always thought about converting cordless drill to a corded one when the battery died. But did not know it was this simple! Thanks @homesteadonomics. I will try mine and help my friend do the same!

Sorry to hear your car is poorly again :/ At least it was outside your house! When my Polo's battery died in November, I was stuck at my workplace's car park for over half an hour, in the cold and pitch black! All the best, and enjoy yourself in Tenerife. :) I'll let the other dashcammers know you said hi
