China surpassed the US in imports & exports, not GDP. And even that's not so important, you have to look at GDP PPP per capita and HDI, it gives you a fuller picture and one that shows you how skewed China's growth has been.

This is such as load of rubbish. Is this disaster release for China's announcement that China has surpassed America. The "economists" quote on wealth distribution is just a joke.

I see dark clouds in every direction. I cannot help but feel we are on the brink of brinks. I can come up with a thousand scenarios that lead to oppression, poverty, war, disease, scarcity, hate, religious fervor, and death in spades. I cannot come up with any realistic scenarios that lead to reform. We the people are terribly screwed....first. You rich believe your safe in your ivory towers, but once the people start starving they will be coming for you. Not with pitchforks....with high tech military grade weapons they learned to use fighting in your wars of conquest and subjugation. I don't want to be around for that...but if I am and your rich, I recommend you give me a wide berth.

I wish I were as optimistic as you friend!I don't see a time when the first shall be last and the last shall be first... Not at all! I only see the rage that grows from the misery of the crisis being hijacked by the corporate media and the people turning the guns on their brothers. The propaganda machine is too strong. Look at the aftermath of the GFC! Those that lost it all turned right around and did the bidding of the very institutions that fucked them (Tea Party). For all the nonsense of keeping guns to protect their homes... I don't believe a single shot was fired.
