Japan, China, Vietnam and many more practice this. Plus when the West got to East Asia Western Europe was stretch too thin from colonizing everywhere else

As opposed to?? Western countries have done just as well at preserving their cultures, Asian culture is just very different than western culture, that doesn't mean western countries don't have any. In fact, each European country has its own rich history and culture, so maybe even more so. The culture may be less ancient but no less worthy for it. America and Africa have been taken over by the western cultures, can't blame them for that, they didn't fail to preserve their culture, it was destroyed. Besides, in Africa much off the old cultures is still respected and revered. The only reason Asia still has it's culture is because they have historically been more proficient at the art of war (throughout the middle ages and such) or they would probably have been steamrolled aswell. You can't erase a full formed culture without killing everyone (like with the native Americans) and that's not really an option in a continent as vast and scattered as Asia.
