I have been really enjoying your reviews, and your artistry on the ukulele. I am going to buy my first Uke soon and would like to ask, what would be your recommendation in the $150 to $300 (U.S dollars) price range? Also, should I go with a soprano, concert or tenor for my first instrument? Thank you so much. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I hope you do get over here one day Ken! I'd love to meet you. That's a shame about the festival today - hopefully they will reconsider about the travel costs! It's a bit rude I think to ask an international artist to come over and not offer to pay travel!

God, that was just beautiful to hear. I can only hope I sound that good soon. I've been playing the uke for 2 years now and this is the kind of sound I'm looking forward to playing. What kind of uke are you playing with?

Thanks Michelle. One of these days I will get to a festival in your country. Was invited to play at one today, but unfortunately they are reluctant to pay the travel costs.

Go with the size you feel most comfortable with. I work for Ohana. Go for any of the solid wood instruments that we do. Send me an email if you need more info.

I compressed the audio a little and added a touch of reverb. That improved it a bit. There was also a great deal of noise outside in the street.

Agree with all comments here. Just beautiful playing. Lovely sounding ukulele too but I'm pretty sure you could make any uke sound good.

It is a lovely koa uke with some beautiful abalone inlay. The strings on it are my own Living Water Strings.
